“Elegant hotel, some old details”
Reviewed 13 December 2012

It's an elegant hotel that deserves 4 stars. The room is small but well furnished and elegant. In the room are old and bygone details that could be enhanced.
The breakfast is very good and abundant.
Finally recommend the hotel for the central location.

I had read some reviews before booking this hotel. I must admit that some is true, but most of the bad sides were not visible to me. I booked a single room, which was more spacious than I am used to, when staying in a single room. The bathroom could do with some renovation, but I don't mind it not being perfect. Bed was actually extremely comfortable. I was on a business trip, so the few hours of sleep I had time for gave me a good rest. Service was good and the reception booked a table for lunch at a very nice restaurant, Koefoed. I had never been there before, but I would recommend it, if you like Danish freerange food and beer.
I got a reasonable price for the room through booking.com. The location is perfect, especially if you want to visit art galleries or do the high class shopping. Very close to Kongens Nytorv.

This is one of those hotels which is always busy because of it's location so they don't really need to try very hard to please their customers, and it shows.

The room was tiny, but with a great bed. The bathroom is in desperate need of refurbishing. Old fashioned with a terrible smell of sewage. The breakfast was ok, but nothing more. There are better hotels in Copenhagen.

The hotel has very convinient location in the center, close to metro (direct line to airport). I styed in single room, which is VERY small. Hotel looks a little shabby and dusty. Breakfast is at additional cost. Staff in general is not friendly, but OK for Denmark.

Room Tip: Rooms facing courtyjard are really quiet.

This is one of those hotels which is always busy because of it's location so they don't really need to try very hard to please their customers, and it shows. Most of the rooms are tiny, the beds are not very comfortable & the hot water is not very hot. The breakfast is basic but ok. It's got a nice lobby & the location is superb but there are much better hotels nearby.

The Phoenix is always comfortable, efficiently managed, and is located conveniently in the city center. Rooms vary from rather small to spacious and elegant. I have stayed here for 12 nights in the last year or so, and have not been disappointed. For me, it's mostly about location ... but I have stayed at a number of other hotels around the city and will return to the Phoenix regularly. I found the hotel staff to be friendly and accommodating.

Room Tip: Ask for an upgrade, or stay frequently at Arp-Hansen hotels and earn one!
