The hotel staff is well trained and friendly on every visit. Food in resturant(incl roomservice) is good and fair prized. Wintertime campaign is good, and location is Perfect. Prize for hotel rooms is also very competitive.

Location can't be beaten. Front lobby and entrance is very impressive, very chic.

Rooms are looking tired and furniture a bit too. Goes with the character of the hotel so it works still.

Beds extremely comfy and service unfaulted. Best value for money hotel in Copenhagen if you ask me and I am a fellow dane!

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights in December. We arrived a few hours before check in but they had a room available for us anyway and check in hassle free. Our room was quite large, the bed very comfortable.
There was a mini bar and a safe and free Wi-Fi and a flat screen tv. We requested a kettle and this was brought up promptly with tea bags and coffee.
The shower was very difficult to adjust to get a constant temperature and the pressure was bad. They had towel warmers and the floor was even warm. The amenities were okay but we were only given 1 small bar of soap for the entire stay! The room was facing the side street and it was very noisy. There is a bar of some sorts down there and the noise could be heard all night long, and could we hear every car engine that started up and car doors closing. Also we had a lot of noise from inside the walls of the room - water pipes??
We had breakfast here every day and the breakfast was very good although the décor of the room was very bland.
We also drank at the bar and had an evening meal at the restaurant which is in the bar which is located in the basement. The décor here was also very bland. The food was average and the price of wine was very expensive. They have a bottle of red wine in the room mini bar which is actually cheaper than if you drink at the bar.
The hotel is in a great location for walking to many places of interest including Nyhavn.
The checkout staff were able to organise promptly a fixed price taxi to take us to the airport (my husband doesn't like using trains to get to the airport). This was $225 Danish kroner and took us approx. 20 minutes.
My overall opinion is that the hotel looks great as you enter the foyer, the staff were very pleasant too, but the hotel is abit overrated.
Would we stay here again - probably not.

Room Tip: They not to get a room overlooking the side street as it is very noisy.

Dear traveller,
Thank you for taking your time to write a review from your stay last year. We are glad to hear that you liked our down town location and our breakfast buffet. We are sorry to hear that you had an unpleasent stay at Phoenix Copenhagen. Phoenix Copenhagen is a historic building with rooms on 5 levels and our rooms are located both to the street but also to a courtyard. We are sorry that you did not report noice in your room, missing soap or shower head that did not work proberly to our serviceminded staff during your 4 nights stay. If our staff was notified we could have solved the issues or moved you to another room. Our Brasserie and Restaurant are newly renovated and are held in same style as the rest of our historic building. We are sorry if this is not of your taste. It is correct that the minibar wine is less expesive that the wines on the menucard but we do not find our prices exspensive. Our wine prices starts at Dkk 245,- for a bottle. Should you wish to elaborate further on your experience, you are more than welcome to send us an e-mail on phoenixcopenhagen@arp-hansen.dk.
Kind regards

I stayed at the Phoenix Copenhagen when I had a night layover at the Copenhagen airport. The hotel is located about a 15 minute subway ride from the airport and then it's an ten minute walk from the closest station. It is located very close to Nyhavn as well as other tourist attractions.

It's an older hotel but very well maintained. The staff was friendly and helpful, there was free wifi in the lobby (as well as the rooms) and the hotel was clean. I really couldn't ask for more! The room itself was much bigger than I initially thought. I ordered room service because it being Sunday night not many restaurants were open. The food was tasty but a bit expensive (then again isn't most room service!) If I had the pleasure of staying a couple more nights I would definitely check out some local restaurants.

Overall, I would recommend this hotel for anyone traveling to Copenhagen. It was a very pleasant stay!

Dear traveller,
Thank you for your review of Phoenix Copenhagen. We are glad to hear that you had a pleasant stay and we appreciate you liked it so much that you will recommend us to others. We thank you for your feedbacks and we hope to have the pleassure to welcome you at Phoenix Copenhagen on your next visit in Copenahgen. And since you did not have the opportunity to dine in the city during your visit, you definitely have a good reason to return to Copenhagen. Greater Copenhagen offers 13 Michelin star restaurants and many other unforgetable restaurants.

We were in Copenhagen for 4 days over Christmas and really enjoyed our stay at the Phoenix. The restaurant/bar had great food and the staff were very friendly. The rooms were small but the beds were very comfortable and the rooms were quiet, which made for good sleeping. The location was excellent and we could walk to everything or jump on the metro with ease. Much of Copenhagen was closed when we first arrived but the hotel staff were able to steer us in the direction of a good meal on Christmas. I would stay here again and recommend it to others.
