“Awful rooms”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 February 2014

Just back from a weekend in this hotel. Downstairs & reception/ bar area are fine. As soon as you check in and make your way to your room it all goes downhill! Dirty, grubby carpets taped together on parts of the stairs. This continues with stained carpets along the corridors and into our room. We booked a double room but we're told on arrival there were only twin rooms left (valentines day) but would be upgraded to a bigger room. If what we got was a bigger room I dread to think what the small ones were like. Room was awful, beds appeared to be camp beds, grubby bathroom & badly stained carpet. It just seemed like a student hostel. Really disappointing. Staff were nice and location is good but this really doesn't make up for feeling like your staying in a dump.

Breakfast was really very good, but the rooms were a little old and worn. Our room had an extremely bad looking carpet flooring. Staff was extremely pleasant and the hotel has a very central location and Nice prices!

The location of the hotel is very good, it is right next to Tivoli Gardens and the Strøget, but as anybody knows Copenhagen can be easily visited by foot. The rooms were microscopic (the bathroom as well), there wasn't space between the bed and the wall in front of it so we had to jump on the bed to reach the other side. Windows and doors weren't isolated at all. We went there because there was a special price for the room (Copenhagen is very expensive), so I would say go if there are special offers, otherwise look for something better.

Booked through Lastminute.com and as a result got a 2 night stay here which was good value for Copenhagen.

It was easy enough to find from the main station. The staff were friendly enough and check-in was easy. I was given a map of the city too which was a big help!

The room was small and a little dark but adequate. The bathroom was VERY small, but seeing as though I was alone, this wasn't much of a problem. It was clean apart from a stain on the carpet and some dust around the wall and door in the bathroom. Bring your own toiletries as the only offering in the room is hand soap. Bed was slightly flimsy but even for a larger guy like myself it did the job.

I can't comment on the food/drink here as I dined elsewhere, but overall the hotel was good value for Copenhagen and was situated in a useful location. Perhaps not the place to go if you're wanting a luxury break but it was ideal for myself just staying for a couple of nights as a lone tourist.

This hotel is located within 2 blocks of pretty much everything. Copenhagen central, the national museum, city hall, tivoli and stroget are all within easy walking distance. The service was good, the room was clean, however the bathroom was tiny and the mattress was old and squeaky. Overall i had a pleasant stay, and enjoyed staying in such central location.

Room Tip: ask for a room away from the lift, as it tended to be noisy at night when guests were returning to t...

Stay here for the location! It's near all the good stuff. The service was good and the room was OK, but very small and the toilet / bathroom smelled a little like sewerage for the first couple of days we were there (we just kept the door shut at all times).

Average city hotel with a great location for shopping and visiting Tivoli. I recommend not buying breakfast in, and visiting the small cozy coffee shops located around the hotel.
If you are a light sleeper it might be smart to book a room in the backyard, as the city fire station is the nearest neighbor!

Dear HeidiMR from Norway,

Hotel Danmark and I would like to thank you for your review and for your stay in Hotel Danmark.

The location of the hotel is in the very central area of Copenhagen, and this is of course wonderful. Therefore we have a number of rooms facing the courtyard if you wish to face the less vibrant side of the street.

But I hope you enjoyed the view of wonderful Copenhagen from your room, none the less.

We hope to see you soon in our cosy boutique hotel.

Kind regards
Pardis K
