We went to Arken to see the Hundertwasser exhibition. Although the museum looked kind of hard to reach from central Copenhagen, it wasn't that bad – we took the S-Tog to Ishøj and catched the bus, very convenient.

Arriving at the museum, we were stunned by the fantastic modern architecture, looking like some kind of strange, white ship stranded on the beach plains.

Inside, we saw the Hundertwasser exhibition, which were magnificent – one of the most interesting artists/architects I've seen. The exhibition were well made and nicely presented. There were also two documentaries on Hundertwasser on show in the auditorium. It was well worth seeing them both.

Check what exhibition is on when you're in Copenhagen – Arken is a museum worth the trip.

I am not sure that it is true but so far it has always been sunny when I have visisted Arken! As it is right on the beach this is certainly an advantage! The building is very intresting - and very modern. (It is a bit embarrasingly, but I am so fond of the toilets with their "raw2 design!) I have seen several interesting exhibitions there and the permanent collection isn't bad. Shop and nice restaurant/café with ourdoor seating. As I said, it is always sunny;).
It is easy to get here from central Copenhagen, an S-train to Ishöj and then a walk or the bus that runs twice an hour. There is a large shopping mall by the station, but the bus station is on the other sida of the train tracks from that.

5 years ago we visited this site while this museum was under construction. Now that it is finished and has been open for about a year, we returned. The building is meant to resemble a ship (according to a Danish friend it is supposed to be a sinking ship, but that might just be his sense of humor). There is some very interesting art on display, such as the series on violence in various countries around the world superimposed on butterfly specimens from each specific country, but also incomprehensible (to me, anyway) art that is colorful if nothing else. The admission price is rather expensive for what this museum contains. The art of Hundertwasser is interesting, but his life story is even more interesting. They have a large portion of the space here devoted to children's art activities, which is a very good thing. This morning there were a lot of children's activities in progress, with parents along for the ride. This is a good rainy day activity for either adults or children. At a slow pace, the museum takes only about 90 minutes to complete. There is a cafe, a well-stocked gift shop and free parking at the door. The museum is very near the Brondby Strand beach and a fine summer day could be made of seeing the museum and then going to the beach, with or without children.

Very nice modern art museum. Beautiful building next to the beach. Really nice to walk through the museum and then hit the beach on a nice day.

A mediocre art meseum, nothing close to wonderful Lousiana. The building is rather odd and seems to rather unconnecte to the lovely near by beach which seems to be a shame.
