“Taking into account the price of hotels in Copenhagen, you can't go wrong with this bad boy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013

We stayed for a week over the Eurovision period - it was so handy for getting over to Malmo for that - and have to say that we weren't expecting it to be so good considering it was cheaper than most other hotels in the city and was just a Best Western which are generally just 'alright'. However we were really pleased - lovely bathroom, surprisingly fresh breakfast, spotless room... no faults at all. We normally stay in independent B&Bs but as we didn't fancy remortgaging the house for one in Copenhagen we went for this and it was a brilliant hotel - well done to them. We made sure to ask for a room away from the lifts as other reviews had complained about their noise. Our request was met and we had a very quiet room.

When we arrived at the central train station we mistakenly walked to the closer Best Western Mercur. There were people sleeping on the couches in the lobby. I was surprised to see that in a Best Western. I was pleased to find that we had booked the other best western which was the Hotel City in Copenhagen.

We walked back to the train station and took a bus to the Best Western City and found a clean hotel, good location with helpful staff. Which is what we have come to expect from Best Western's in Europe.

The bus stops around the corner from the hotel. Nyhavn was about a 4 block walk. The hotel was within walking distance of many museums and restaurants.

The size of the rooms were fine. They were able to put a 3rd bed in a room with plenty of space.

The showers were a bit small.

For a city trip, we believe that this hotel is a very good choice. The staff is friendly. Or did you ever meet a Danish person who’s not? And it’s close to Nyhavn, close to metro station Kongens Nytorv, and ideal to explore the rest of the city. Enjoy your stay, like we did!

Well, this Best Western wasn't one of the best we've stayed in. The room was tiny, the double bed two twins pushed together, the shower was minuscule (and the faucet was easy to bump while showering, thus radically changing the temperature). However, the location was pretty good - near Nyhavn and within walking distance of Tivoli and the train station and also the pedestrian mall. There were bikes available for rent at the hotel, and the buffet breakfast was super. Our room was clean, but the curtains did not block much light (surprising for Scandinavia).

Room Tip: Get a room high up and off the street for the view and the quiet.

We stayed at the Best Western City Hotel this past July and loved this hotel. The breakfast served every morning is FANTASTIC! The variety is great and plentiful amounts to enjoy. The rooms are very comfortable, clean and quiet. We had a family room which was perfect for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 young children). Our boys got their own beds!! The location is fantastic as well. Just around the corner from Nyhavn, about a 10 minute walk to the Stroget (shopping area) and the metro which can take you directly to the Copenhagen area. A quick bus ride to the Trivoli area or about a 15 minute walk. Highly recommend this hotel!

Stayed on the 4th July prior to joining a baltic cruise. Arrived early and reception made us feel welcome and provided a lovely room (503) which was ready (about 8AM!). The room and bathroom very well appointed and coul not be faulted. Windows could be opened so the warm weather was not an issue. Breakfast was brilliant and some of the pastries were absolutely delicious. All staff made an effort to make our vist a delight with advice on things to see and do, plus holding our luggage for a late departure. located in a quiet street and within walking distance of the major attractions, particularly Nyhavn.

My wife and I spent two nights in this hotel, previous to a cruise that took us around the Baltic Sea. I believe that we were not the only group that did this. The hotel is very well located, at a couple of blocks from Nyhavn, the channel/street that seems to be the heart of the tourist activity in this beautyful city. The hotel is very nice, room excellent, breakfast one of the best you can find. Girls at the front desk very helpful (and attractive). Wifi available, as we had in all the Best Western hotels we booked in this trip (three). I would come back any time

Room Tip: Quiet neighborhood, very silent
