This is a historic hotel in the best location if you ask me. The Stroget is next to you and Tivoli is across the square. We had a deluxe room. Nothing fancy. The only downside was tha it was quite warm and there is no AC. So we had to keep our windows open and there was a street with bars and cafe underneath. In a central location you have to put up with noice. Our deal included breakfast. it was good but I would not pay for it separately.
The railway station is only a block away so it is easy to take the train fro the airport.

Dear SunseekerFinland,

Thank you for staying with us, and for appreciating the central location being close to most important "must sees" in Copenhagen.

This year we had some really hot hot days in Copenhagen, and unfortunately our AC was not able to cope 100%. I hope with open windows you still were able to have a good nights sleep.

I wish you all the best and hope to see you back with us again soon.

Sincerely Yours,

If you are looking for a modern style hotel this is not your best option. Location of the hotel is excellent overviewing Tivoli Gardens and Stroget street. Inside you will find an old fashion hotel. Concierge is working only half day. You will find inside a real old elevator, don't be worry is still working. Standard rooms are very small, bathroom is very small also. The lavatory is quite impossible to be used. Specially for a double room, two persons can be accommodated very hard in this kind of room. Breakfast is fare, with a medium variety for food. A special remark for the personnel for the breakfast. People are polite and they want to assist you in any request. Sleeping quality is for a 4 star hotel, don't expect to many variety for the pillows. Strongly recommended to make an upgrade to the higher standard room.

Room Tip: don't choose a standard room

Dear Florin T,

Thank you for staying with us!

I regret to see you were not fully satisfied with your stay, however please at any given time call Front Desk who will be more than happy to assist with more pillows, advice etc.

The property was build in 1910 by famous Danish architect Mr. Anton Rosen, and the hotel is considered to be his masterpiece within Art Nouveau. For this reason the hotel is listed as protected landmark, and when restoring the property, this process is done with outmost respect and care to the details originally done by Mr. Anton Rosen.

The elevators are as well to be kept in original shape, size and look - we paint them frequently and add new carpets to have them nicely in order. Above this, they are 100% operational, and perfectly safe to use.

I hope to see you back with us again, and if requiring more space, I recommend you to book one of the beautiful rooms towards the City Hall Square, or even perhaps one of our suites.

Sincerely Yours,

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel, especially the air conditioning as we experienced a few warm days in Copenhagen. While this is an historical hotel with some antiquated features (i.e. the elevator), our suite was very nice with an updated bathroom and plenty of room. This is a centrally located hotel which allowed us an easy walk to the train station, metro and other popular tourist sites in Copenhagen. The staff at the Palace Hotel was very kind and helpful with directions, maps and room issues. We did enjoy the breakfast every morning of our stay. There was a wonderful selection of fresh fruit, breads, cheeses, cereals, yogurt, creamy scrambled eggs, crispy bacon, potatoes, etc., and even a cappuccino machine. Don't miss the roof-top catwalk on the 5th floor.

Room Tip: We had a room off the main street on the 4th floor.

If you are looking for a new style hotel , this is not the place to come. Despite his very good location the hotel is an old style and non refurbished hotel. First category of rooms are very small , bathroom are small. You can experience an old elevator inside the hotel. If you want a nice room please reserve a higher standard one. The junior suite is quite o.k. bathroom is a medium class. Bedrooms can be improved. Concierge is working only in the afternoon. Breakfast is fare , medium variety. A special remark for the ladies serving the breakfast.

Room Tip: don't choose the standard room.

Dear WecoTravel,

Thank you very much for visiting us while travelling to Copenhagen.

- I regret to see you were not fully satisfied with your stay.

We show great respect to the history of the building, and make sure to maintain it to our very best efforts. All interior was renovated only few years back, and I hope most travelers recognize the fine mix between a historical Danish landmark and the many modern facilities we offer such as complementary high speed WiFi in all areas, urban cocktail bar, ecolabelling etc.

If looking for a modern high-rise glass building, the Scandic Palace is definitely not the obvious choice, however we do still offer many modern facilities combined with beautiful details of a building being recognized as a protected Danish landmark.

The hotel is in an excellent location. Easy to get to from airport by train. Would not take a cab. Literally a few steps from the train station. Centrally located in the city. Staff and concierge were very helpful. Close to restaurants. Rooms above average but not excellent. Somewhat of an old hotel.

We stayed as a family for 3 nights (in 3 rooms) at the Palace Hotel and it is in a great central location to explore the city. The rooms were spotlessly clean, really comfortable and well equipped, and you quickly get used to the chiming clock in the city square (aided by the earplugs provided to block out the noise!) We loved the buffet style breakfast, and found there to be a great selection of hot and cold food, which was replenished regularly.
However, there was a mix up on check-out over payment of our booking. We booked the hotel via its website and pre-paid for 2 of the rooms. But their system had no record of this and I therefore paid for all 3 rooms (having been assured if we could provide proof of payment when we got home and checked our bank statements that I would be reimbursed immediately). Turns out we had pre-paid for 2 of the rooms and I emailed as soon as we got home with proof of this. I received no acknowledgement of my email so tried again the following day but again no reply or acknowledgement. A week later all finally has been resolved, but only thanks to our having chased staff to answer our emails and several international calls at our expense to Denmark. A shame, as we found the reception staff to be lovely and helpful in person, particularly when we needed their help to contact the Police on the first day when my Dad’s wallet was stolen in a central café.

Dear HarryR32,

First of all thank you very much for staying with!

- That being said, I am really sorry you had a poor guest service experience upon check-out. It is surely not our normal standard, and I can only apologize for us not having the right payment information in our systems.

I regret this very much, though relieved to see the case was finally solved.

- I hope you have not lost all your trust in us, and apart from a very unfortunate check-out handling and a lost wallet, it seems as if you had a good time while in Copenhagen.

Please let me know if you decide to visit Copenhagen again, as I would really like to see you back at Scandic Palace.

Included breakfast. Near Trivoli, a nice little amusement park that was established in 1843. Lots of shopping within walking distance. The service was excellent and the rooms are large and modern. I would stay there again.
