“Location and convenience”
Reviewed 7 June 2011

We were 4 families with an average of two children. The Ascot apartment hotel was an ideal choice as it had a small kitchen, living dining, small storage space etc. Location is great , 5 minutes walk from the main station and a stones throw from Tivoli gardens. The Stroget Copenhagen's famous shopping street is about 5mins walk as well. There were plenty of good cafe's and chilli milli around the corner also provides quick sumptuous bites.
Clean rooms but bed and linen a bit run down. A bit pricey for what you get, though very convenient.

this hotel is really not a 4 star hotel. My room is tiny tiny tiny. no tea making facility in room. no water, no advice on drinking the water, the room is really noisy, every time the lift goes the doors on my room bang like a banshee is trying to get in. there is constant banging outside the room all night long..then the rubbish bins gets dragged around from about 6 in the morning.
the breakfast is inedible and difficult to get some.
staff smile a lot but dont actually do anything.
i have eaten the food from their room service restaurant and i feel so sick from it. queasy yucky greasy food.
this is really bad...never again

Room Tip: if they have best rooms they dont want people onlm

Excellent location close to Tivoli, central station, Hop on hop off buses, short walk to older area of town, restaurants abound, theatre etc. Rooms are clean and large furnished in the minimilist Danish style, heated suitably and quiet. Breakfast was plentiful and the room full, so the hotel and apartments must have been also.
On our first night we were upgrded to a penthouse and enjoyed great views across two areas, one towards the Tivoli. Upon our return nearly two weeks later we were housed in the hotel area and entered the general hallway of our floor to a terrible stench which continued into every room of our apartment. (We noted that all the plugs were put into the plug holes). The maintenance man came to the room at our request and poured disinfectant down the trap in the bathroom which lessened the stench but by morning it had returned somewhat. After pouring several bottles of water down the trap in the morning, (to fill the S bend pipe), the smell went. Perhaps a better understanding of the sewerage system would help the ambience of this hotel and this problem.

Stayed here for 3 nights visiting our son in May. Location is great, just 10 mins walk from the station (direct train to airport). Minutes away from Tivoli gardens and a few excellent restaurants within walking distance. Room was small, compact but clean and quiet. Lots of storage space. Bathroom was a bit dated and shower underpowered. Fridge in room was useful for drinks and snacks. Busy lobby and small quaint bar. This is a perfect spot for sightseeing or visiting Copenhagen -very clean, well priced and location unbeatable. Windows open to the outside, which I love.

Room Tip: hard to say - no great views

It was with a sense of trepidation that I arrived at the Ascot, having seen previous reviews here. However, they were ill-founded as the reception staff were courteous and helpful, providing two keys for the room as "the bloke" had had to travel on a later flight. In fact it was not so much a room as a little apartment, with a sink, fridge and gas hob! The bedroom (behind another door) was a good size and had satellite TV. The bathroom was reasonably sized and "the bloke" raved about the quality of the hot water. Breakfast was absolutely excellent, great variety of hot and cold, with good coffee and juice and fab pastries. Free internet in the breakfast room (that is to say terminals, useful if you haven't got a laptop). We didn't use the spa, and I regret not taking my swimming cossie. If you want to do some shopping after checking out, you are given the use of the luggage room on the lower ground floor - you retain your room key to access this.

I stayed in the Ascot Hotel Apartments which are attached to the hotel with my wife, children and my parents in law and it suited our needs perfectly. We had two apartments which catered for the seven of us easily. You are in an apt complex with privately owned apartments so it is a quiet location.

Some of the beds were pull out sofa beds but all very comfortable and could not be faulted. We had full use of the hotel facilities and ate a very nice breakfast on each morning of our stay. Only a few minutes walk from a railway station and lots of restaurants in the area.
