Stayed here for three nights in a Junior suite which was adequate. Small room as expected but mezzanine floor where the bed was situated is up a steep set of stairs. bathroom again is sufficient but nothing special. bed very comfortable and staff friendly and efficient. Excellent location and nice sitting outside. As expected beverages over priced and a shame they get away with it. Ate in the restaurant "Salt" but will review that separately.Overall happy with the hotel and would revisit no problem

The Admiral has a great location and the people are very helpful. Our room had a view of the water and was very comfortable. We were able to walk to most places( like Nyhavn ) and would recommend this hotel and would gladly stay there again

We were in Copenhagen for two days. We were easily able to locate the hotel from the metro station. There is a lot of metro construction going on in the City. This hotel has a wonderful nautical theme. The hotel is large and right on the water. Currently there is construction on a pier in front of the hotel. This was only an minor issue when were having drinks outside at Salt where one could hear the construction noise. This hotel is very clean with large standard rooms. Bathrooms came equipped with a tub. The hotel has many business travelers. We enjoyed the large breakfast selection. The Salt staff was fantastic. The Admiral is very close to Nyhavyn and other city sights and tours.

Stayed here for 2 nights before a cruise. The room and bathroom are good size and clean. As I knew before booking there is no air conditioning but very few hotels in Copenhagen have A/C. It was VERY noisy in the morning with trucks loading/unloading when sleeping with the window open. It is walking distance to Nyhavn and the restaurants and tour boats. We couldn’t find any restaurants close by for breakfast so ended up at the hotel buffet (for $25 per person) which was actually quite good (except for the scrambled eggs).

A nice hotel near the city center. The rooms where good and the beds confortable. I was there in winter and was worried about the rooms being cold, but the temparture was good. They have a fancy restaurant in the hotel, a bit overpriced, but not bad for a hotel.

Room Tip: the supperior (delux ) or double rooms are not that big compared to singel ones

You know, there is just no excuse these days for not being informed. There is a huge amount of information out there and all one has to do is slow the heck down and read some of it. Then make a choice based on what is important to you. The Hotel Admiral is a fine, historic property with NO AIR CONDITIONING. Get it, people? NO AIR CON. So, if you are so fragile that you cannot sleep with the windows open for fear of a bug, or if you are such a light sleeper that the sounds of the night or of people celebrating bother you, then don't stay here! It is really that elementary. I visit Copenhagen in the shoulder months spring and fall, and love the Admiral because I sleep with my windows open wide and snuggle under the blanket. I just love their beds. And I never, ever get a room with a view, ever, in any hotel unless I have personally experienced it before, because guess what? Rooms with a view are 99 percent of the time loud! Geepers people, grow up!

Room Tip: Get a room facing the city! Do not get a room with water view because for one thing, the harbor is a...

we stayed for five nights on a business trip. The rooms are quite original as the whole hotel. We had a room to the roadside which was quite loud either from traffic of from people leaving the hotel or restaurant late ( between 2-4 am). As there is no air conditionning with the window open, sleep can be quite difficult. Rooms to the harbour side shoud be better. Breakfast buffet is ok but quite expensive.

Room Tip: harbour side rooms are definitively

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Next door to royal residence Amalienborg Palace and just a short walk from Nyhavn, this imposing 200-year-old former granary warehouse is one of the largest hotels in the city, with 366 rooms - but don't let that put you off. It may not be boutique but big can definitely be beautiful. Beyond the two cast iron canons at the entrance is a neon-pink bar (great for a pre-dinner tipple), while guests retire to rooms showing off classic Danish touches such as teak furniture, low ceilings and original wooden beams. Best of all are the panoramas across the water towards the city's shiny Opera House and Christiania: a view fit for royalty. ... more   less
