“Good location and helpful staff - rooms a bit shabby”
Reviewed 23 May 2014 via mobile

The hotel is located in DGI byen, where there are also swimming and work-out facilities. Some of the facilities are complimentary for guests staying at the hotel, which is a nice feature.

The hotel is located close to the central station and Tivoli, so if you fly to Copenhagen, there's no need to take a taxi. Just take the train from the airport to the Central station.

The staff was very friendly and helpful, but i found my room a bit shabby and in need of refurbishment. The bed was allright though. The bathroom was fairly clean.

Breakfast was OK, but nothing special. If you have supper at the restaurant, you'll get a 25 % discount on their help yourself, carvery style, all-you-can-eat menu.

If the price of the room was a bit lower, I would probably give them 4 stars, but considering the price, they only get 3 stars.

Stayed over for the evening of Eurovision with a friend just for one evening. It's connected to a sports/conference centre and is right next to the main train station, which is useful if you're planning on travelling outside of Copenhagen (we did a day trip to Malmo so it was very handy for us).

My opinions are coloured by the fact that we paid double the normal price of a room because all the prices were bumped up because of Eurovision. It's more like a really nice and modern hostel, everything very crisp and no-frills. Hotel staff were friendly, and the breakfast next door was definitely well received after a late night! Our room overlooked the train line but didn't bother either of us - only if we had the balcony door open did we notice the train noise.

We didn't use the sports facilities but they looked really lovely if that's something that is important. The one tiny quibble was that you have to pay a small surcharge for tea and coffee for your room, there is a mini-kettle and cups in the room but no tea/coffee sachets which we hadn't come across before. But certainly not a deal breaker!

If you want a convenient no-frills place to stay near the train station then this is for you.

DGI byens hotel is located pretty close to the main train station in Copenhagen, and just a short walk from Tivoli.
They offer a clean, modern hotel with good parking facilities near byteo.
The pool in the next door building was big and great for a excercise.

Recommended if you want a hotel close to the city area.

The nearby trains could be annoying for those who sleep light. Didn't bother us, though.

I have stayed here before - and actually in the same room at the end of the corridor....
The new thing was: WiFI is now working - rather well, indeed!
You can use all the sport facilities there - and you can have your meetings and conference there - and it is very convenient with the location so close to the main railway station!

The hotel is located in the upper floors of the DGI-byen convention center, which I cover in a separate review. The reception is at ground floor, and one must use the elevators to get to the hotel levels. Breakfast is served in a mess hall across the courtyard. The train station is quite near, but, at the time we were there, we had to find our way among the construction works.
The rooms are simple, but good enough, given that the hotel is inexpensive, for Danish standards. One major drawback: no WiFi in the rooms, just by the reception.

Super nice swimming pool area, but as a hotel it is worn down, cheap madras (no actual bed) and a 6€ pillow from ikea. Bit noicy from the trains. No coffee/tea in the room, breakfast a bit slim selection.
On the positive side, central location and friendly staff.
If it had been 1/2 price, it would have been a fine hostel

Stayed here for 2 nights, it's a strange set up part sports centre, part conference centre, part hotel. The hotel has very basic room facilities, rooms are clean, no iron/ iron board, difficult access to WiFi, no bar, no room service, a kettle ( no cups)but you have buy the makings from reception! The hotel is also near the main railway line so if you have your room window open expect to put up with the noise all night. The room has no A/C so if you like to keep cool it will be an issue keeping the window closed. Breakfast is provided at a nearby restaurant next to the hotel, it's limited by continental standards. All staff are very polite, there are numerous bars and restaurants within walking distance but the area itself attracts the local winos. All in all if you just need a bed for the night it's OK, if you are expecting a complete hotel experience try elsewhere.
