We just stayed at the d"Angleterre in August and had a wonderful time. The property has been completely transformed and is hands down the best that Copenhagen has to offer. Look this place is going to be more expensive but it is well worth the extra price paid. This is the ideal property for anyone looking for a five star property in one of the best locations in the city. It is located a block away from the metro stop and right on the main walking street. Everything you need to see is near by this location or just a quick ride on the metro. One of the most impressive aspects of this hotel is the service. The staff was spectacular! Not like anything I have seen in Scandinavia before. Someone has taken the care and given the attention to detail to put together a talent team of enthusiastic individuals. I would rarely take the time to write a review but this time it is really worth noting such a spectacular hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 5th floor are going to keep you on the highest floor and are all great rooms.

We booked this hotel for one night, from Friday to Saturday, but made the mistake that it was during the Copenhagen Marathon.

This resulted that we had to leave our room the next day very early, in order to even get out of the city. We came in late the night before, could grab a bite to eat in the wonderful restaurant, and a drink in town.

The hotel was fantastic and we were upgraded to a corner suite which we really appreciated. Thanks a lot. It made our stay, which was way to short.

Since we are often in Copenhagen we look forward to coming back to be able to enjoy the facilities and the hotel again.

We just returned from vacationing in Denmark with 3 children . The final stop of a mini European tour covering Switzerland , Sicily and finally ended in Copenhagen where there are literally only 2 "luxury" hotels...some reviews claim they're the only 2 in Denmark .
We didn't know much about Hotel D'angleterre before we arrived except that it was recently renovated , the location is good and that it is very expensive .
Upon check in it turned out to be one of the nicest properties we've stayed at , the interior bears resemblance to one of my all time favorites , the Hotel De Russie in Rome .
Very tasteful contemporary interior design , extremely well appointed rooms and very cosy and comfortable beds . The linens are brand new as is the whole hotel . It is obvious the owners picked nothing less than the best to fit out this marvelous property .
As for the service , you can tell everyone is trying very hard and i do admit most of our stay has been extremely satisfactory . We really appreciated Virginia's effort , the guest relation manager , how she handled a crisis situation with the break down of our room's AC . Who would believe in a Nordic city like Copenhagen the temperature can reach 27 degrees at night . The 1st thing she did in the morning was to find us an upgraded room on the same floor as our children AND waived the 1st night's charge . This is how you can tell that the management isn't just about money but also they want to make a name for themselves , which they did .
We didn't try the SPA but it looks truly paradisiac . The restaurant is delicious , i highly recommend the Chateaubriand .
The only 2 things working against this hotel are as follows :
The construction of the new metro station is literally across the street which is somehow affecting the front facing rooms which have the best view . It's not that much an issue at night but could get annoying if you want to have a quite drink on the room's balcony and admire this beautiful city .
The culture of good customer service doesn't seem to prevail highly in Denmark , the taxi we ordered to the airport didn't even show up , i asked a waiter in the hotel's restaurant why aren't they serving food outdoor today he replied "management decision" !!! . So it must make it twice as difficult for a hotel when operating in such a culture .Mind you , that was only 1 waiter the rest are amazing . our youngest insisted on having spaghetti which isn't on the menu , what do you know , he just made it happen at a 1* Michelin restaurant !! try to ask for that in Paris :) you'll be thrown out of the place .
To conclude , we loved it , Copenhagen is a beautiful city with many good features and restaurants and the weather is just amazing .
Forgot to mention that the Concierge's recommendation for restaurants was spot on on every occasion . They booked us at a Sushi restaurant (Sushi Karma) which at 1st glance seemed a bit disappointing but when the food came , my oh my it was delicious .
We will definitely be back to 1-stay at Hotel D'Angleterre , 2- visit some sights we couldn't do with the children , 3- to try and get a table at Noma .

Room Tip: some rooms look on the courtyard and directly into other rooms so i recommend the ones that have str...

My wife and I stayed one night post a Baltic cruise. The hotel is in excellent condition as it has recently been renovated and it is beautifully done, Whilst we had asked for early check in, the hotel was full so we left our luggage at the hotel and explored our location. We were allocated a room in the early afternoon before official check in time The room whilst small was very comfortable, quiet, with a good desk and sufficient plugs to charge phone and electronic devices. The only minor issue we had was that the bathroom was large but had a standing shower in the bath . There is no shower curtain or screen so water from the shower goes all over the bathroom. This is a pity considering the bathroom has been beautifully renovated.

The concierges were helpful and recommend places to visit and eat and arranged taxi pick up for the next day to the airport. The hotel is in an excellent position to explore Copenhagen by foot and has many good places around it to eat . Would stay again if visiting Copenhagen

We stayed here the first weekend after the hotel reopened after a major renovation. It was very busy but the front desk handled the crowds very well. Our room was beautiful. Light and bright and very quiet. Really comfortable bed and the bathroom was the prettiest hotel bathroom I have ever seen. Common areas are really pretty. We did not use the spa or gym but they looked really nice.

This hotel in the heart of Copenhagen has undergone a major renovation and is superbly presented. The foyer, entry area, bar and restaurant on the ground level are extremely elegant and the rooms spacious with a large bathroom. On our reservation email, we requested an early check in but were pleasantly surprised when we were told on arrival at 9 am after an early flight that the room was ready to occupy. The reception staff were very friendly and Concierge went out of their way to assist in arranging an international parcel delivery I had to do at short notice.
An excellent stay, impossible to fault. Good restaurants and shopping are steps away. The lively waterfront area Nyhavn is a five minute walk from the hotel. Copenhagen is undertaking a subway extension nearby but this has no impact on access to the hotel.
