“good stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 September 2013

I spent there 3 nights in August 2013, thanks to a special offer on the hotel website "stay 3 pay 2", including also breakfast (that could be very expensive if it’s not included in your hotel fee).
I chose a room with bathroom: it was pretty large and clean, there was also tea facility and free wifi.
The hotel is located very close to the central train station in Versterbro. I was told that, in the past, Vesterbro was a degraded area but now I haven't found it dangerous (even if in the street where the hotel is located there are 2 night clubs). Approved.

We arrived around 0830hrs to leave luggage but we provided with a very nice room immediately. The staff could not be more helpful, breakfast was all that one could ask or expect. The hotel is situated most conveniently being very close to the main railway station and within easy walking distance of many of the sights (and shops) of the city. We would certainly stay there again.

If you're a low maintenance person who doesn't need luxurious accommodations for a short stay then this hotel will suit you. I was pleasantly surprised that I could check in about 1030 after an all night flight from the US.

I got a single room, which I learned all face the rear, quiet, side of the hotel. The bed, in typical euro fashion was squishy, lopsided and could stand to have the mattress turned once in awhile. Alas after a long day of sightseeing it was comfy.

The ensuite was a nice size, a bit larger than I was expecting. For my morning shower the hot and cold water kept fluctuating from scalding to freezing but I just had to keep adjusting the faucet. So heed warning if you are traveling with children. I never ran out of hot water. Great water pressure too. The hairdryer was powerful for a long haired girl who doesn't have all morning to stand under the dryer.

A nice added touch was having a portable fan in the room. Even though I didn't need it to keep cool, it was nice to keep the air moving around the room.

Breakfast was filling, with a nice selection of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal, fruit, granola, and hard boiled eggs. coffee, juice and water. I would stay here again.

Good central location. This hotel is perfect for a short break clean and tidy friendly English speaking staff. The room was larger than some city centre hotels with a good size bathroom.
Breakfast continental was again well presented in a simple way. There is no bar but drinks can be purchased from reception...no need when there are plenty of corner shops selling drinks only metres away. Some noise from roadworks but it does act as an early morning wake up call.
Could not fault this hotel for what it offers

I had spent hours researching hotels near the central train station prior to booking this one.
This had the least of the poor reviews, so I chose it (that says a lot about the hotels close to the train station !)

We were arriving late on the train from Stockholm, thus wanted a hotel in walking distance from the station. This hotel is 2-3 minutes from the station (take the steps to the left of the station when you come out).

We stayed for 2 nights during the weekdays. At 22:45 in the night, found the surrounding streets quite safe to walk on; people were still walking and some were dining in restaurants.

As mentioned by lot of people, there are night clubs and strip bars in the area - not just specific to the street on which this hotel is. since we were not there on the weekend cannot comment if there are females standing on the corners of the street (we did not see any).
also there are few comments about noise - somehow that was not an issue for us at all and our sleep was not disturbed by the construction work. I had asked for a room away from the streets but had not got one.
The room itself was very spacious, so was the bathroom, but it was dusty and I was sneezing a lot on our first day.
Staff ok - breakfast was good.Luggage room not great (no tag provided) - so anyone can by mistake walk away with your luggage.

Room Tip: away from the street

Location is great - 100 meters from the train Station. Walking distance to Tivoli and other attractions. Is t a 5-star hotel? No. But they do not advertise themselves to be one either. The staff was very nice and friendly, gave great recommendation for local restaurants (off the the touristy areas) and local attractions.
Buffet is limited but enough to keep you full before lunch time. It does get busy but that's what you gt in a small hotel. Try to get there before 9.. or as close to 10 as possible.
Construction outside was not gold for late sleepers but what can you do?
Anyway, for the price, it is hard to find anything else in the area.
They will store your luggage but technically anyone can walk away with it.

Rooms are pretty big for Europe. No A/C.

I stay at a hotel primarily to sleep and in this hotel, if you have an outside room you definitely will not get much sleep. Apparently this hotel is in the "Red Light" district and all night long we heard loud voices outside even with the windows shut. There is also construction going on that started at 0700. However, even when the construction is complete, because of the noise due to being in the Red Light district, I would not recommend this hotel. An inside room might be quieter, but not sure. Room was spacious with TV, safe and hair dryer. It is in a good location for the train station and walking to Tivoli and the Stroget. Front reception was very nice, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was crowded, but OK.
