We booked the hotel through an offer run by BA and didn't know much about the hotel. We were pleasantly surprised to find the hotel conveniently located only a 5 min walk from the city center and only a 5 min walk to the old meat market which now housed a handful of cool new restaurants and bars. The hotel was clean and ticked all the boxes. The only shortfall on the entire stay was that the breakfast left a bit to be desired.

Despite its handy location, 5 minutes from the main railway station, I was very dissappointed with this hotel. I had chosen carefully and knew I didn't want one of the enormous glass mega hotels. I liked the look of the Crown online with its enclosed courtyard off the main road. I read the reviews and they seemed to be good, It wasn't cheap at nearly £100 a night but I took the plunge and booked for 4 nights.
What a mistake. The first night was a Friday and I hardly slept. The hotels rooms were all arranged around the courtyard, on 5 floors. Any sound in the courtyard was amplified by the natural sound box. There seemed to be parties going on through the night. I wanted to complain but there were 67 rooms in this hotel and noise was coming from more than one. The corridor echoed with the sound of a badly fitted floor and the firedoors slammed.
None of this was really the hotels fault. The staff were kind and courteous, and the breakfast was generous if unimaginative.
The carpets really were disgusting though. In my room I was reluctant to stand on them in bare feet. They needed a good industrial clean, or better still, replacement. It looked like previous guests had brewed up there, or eaten takeaways off the carpets. The common parts were not much better,
Everything is dear in Copenhagen is expensive, but I really felt they should invest some of the room revenue into better cleaning standards in this hotel. The carpet would not have disgraced a doss house for tramps.

This hotel was very convenient for the central train station, walking to all the sites around downtown (even to Christiania), and nights out in the meat packing district. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. We did not have the breakfast. The wifi from the lobby worked in our room, so that is worth checking before you pay extra money for wifi in the room.

Good location -5 minutes from Central station if you pick the right exit.
Clean rooms , comfortable beds and good space. Bathrooms vary in size , a little dated but clean. Great breakfast buffet. Very helpful staff.

Unless you have the money to lash out on the best hotel in town, the vast majority of people on a weekend city break tend to stay in a hotel like this.
Let's deal with things one at a time:
It is convenient - 10 mins walk from Central Station, which is itself only 15 by train from the airport, so handy for seeing Copenhagen on foot if you want.
It was clean - always a big plus in my book.
It is comfortable - comfortable bed and comfortable room, and everything worked.
Okay, so our room was not huge, but how long do you actually spend in your room during any stay? There was a bit of noise at night (we had a room away from the VesterbroGade), people coming and going, but isn't this the same in most hotels?
The staff were all helpful.
Breakfast was a pleasant surprise - good selection of fresh cold meats, cheeses, cereals, yogurts etc, plus coffee and a range of teas. Overall the breakfasts (four) we had were very enjoyable.
The $64 million question is: would you stay here again? The answer is 'Yes'.
