“A friendly place”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

The hotel is only a 7 minute walk from the central train station and is in a good location for taking in the sights of Copenhagen by foot. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful.

We e-mailed in advance to request a smoking room which was duly arranged. All smoking rooms are on the fourth floor.

The breakfast room is on the fifth floor and provides a good Scandinavian buffet style breakfast. There is a reasonable choice of foods available including cereals, cold meats, cheeses, hard boiled eggs, sliced fruits and various breads and pastries. I was surprised there was no Danish bacon available but there was ample food there to provide a good breakfast to start the day. The staff who were looking after the breakfast room were very friendly chaps and ensured the food was replenished when required.

We had a double room which was adequate and though the bathroom was smaller than most with a step in shower it was clean and functional. There was a soap dispenser in the shower and one over the sink.

Our room faced out onto the courtyard and we could open all the windows, however the sill is only about 3 feet from the floor so some caution is required. There was a heatwave while we were in Copenhagen and as there was no air conditioning in the hotel they did provide a table top fan which helped somewhat. I believe air conditioning is not available in the majority of hotels in Copenhagen.

There is no restaurant in the Hotel but lots available in the vicinity. There is a small bar area in reception serving beers, wines, teas & coffees. There is some outdoor seating in the front courtyard and also at the rear of the hotel. There is a locker room available to store luggage if required.

All in all we were quite happy with our stay in the Copenhagen Crown.

The city I felt was a bit overrated but its still worth the visit. Everything is well connected and there is a lot to see and do. Better to actually hop out and see a castle on the outskirts, most worth it. The hotel itself close to the station and there are few good eateries around the hotel. There is also a fetex supermarket close by so you can pick up all essentials. There is no tea and coffee in the room however request from reception a jug, the rest you can buy at fetex. This was OK for me but i still preferred that the hotel would include this or have a common area for free tea and coffee. The bathroom had a smell to it and a bit outdated but I assume that this is normal.

Room Tip: Most rooms are good as the hotel is in a quiet spot generally and for copenhagen well priced.

4nights July5 .Great location .very comfortable. Definitely a positive experience.
Breakfast included was a big plus .....typical European breakfast.

All good except road construction starts at 6 am. You might want an inside room quieter .No air conditioning so open windows could be noisy!
Otherwise all good ,great place to stay perfect location ..would stay there again.
Near train station 15 mins for 36 dk fantastic transportation to and from airport!

Room Tip: Hot summer......back room ...you need to open the windows

very nice hotel. We booked a double room, but got a very generous room with a big couch, which I think would also be used as a triple room.
breakfast room is at the 5th floor and if you're lucky you get a table with a nice view. breakfast was not overwhelming, but it was good! In the lobby, there is a small bar, an internet station and next the lobby, there is a lounge room, which is very comfy and nice. Staff is also very nice, so if I'm going again to Copenhagen, I would choose this hotel again!

Hotel is cute and lovely, staff are great and room was fine with a good bathroom and big windows that open. There was a hairdryer but no fridge or kettle in the room -- tea and coffee in the lobby for 20 DKK ! There is no air-conditioning so in hot weather (like when we were there) you must open the windows for fresh air -- then you are treated to road noise or courtyard noise (like an echo chamber, with loud music from downstairs pub !). This will affect the quality of your sleep. It is a very handy location and you can find nearby breakfast choices for less than the 100 DKK option at this hotel.

Room Tip: If you can sleep without fresh air / windows open, probably all the rooms will be comfy and quiet.

If you would like to find a simple, clean and friendly hotel in Copenhagen and not to pay fortune for it, then Copenhagen Crown in one! It is an independent hotel, quit close to the old town, central station, shopping streets, etc. The staff is most friendliest I have ever met - I bet it is linked to that relaxed Danish attitude! Breakfast was also simple but quit nice - breads, hams, cheeses, jams, bit fruits, cereals. Beds are very comfy and wide, no drinks in the rooms though but bar is near the reception.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the garden are probably quieter.

We picked this hotel due to it's location and price. It is close enough to walk to Tivoli Gardens, the HoHo bus, Central Station, and plenty of restaurants and shops. The nice surprise, was the very helpful, friendly staff!
There were 3 rooms in our group. Ours overlooked the entry. One had a view of the back garden area. And one overlooked the street. None of us were unhappy with our room location. Beings we were close to above the office, I was able to get the wifi in our room, a nice plus!
The rooms were smallish, but adequate, and clean! We found the bed comfy.
The breakfast was good, with fresh pastries and breads, cheese, cold cuts, cereals, milk, juices, etc.

Room Tip: The wifi worked in our room that overlooked the entryway. Just a little bonus!
