“Great location, but.......”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

I stayed at this property on business for two nights last week. I chose it for its excellent location and good price. It was perfectly located near a major metro stop and in close walking distance to many principal sights in Copenhagen. However, don't expect much in the line of service and amenities. The room was small, clean and quiet. However the mattress was old, there was one tiny bar of soap, one small drinking glass and a shower that was of Italian style. When you showered the entire bathroom became wet set there was only a hole in the floor for drainage. The saving grace was that the internet connection was strong, the Danish breakfast buffet was excellent and the location was outstanding. From a service perspective, there was a reserved friendliness. There was a gentleman on the front desk who was helpful, but lacked any personal rapport. He did his job and nothing more. I would not stay there again.

Room Tip: I would ask for a room on the back to avoid street noise.

The location was everything I could ask for - within 15 minutes of leaving the airport I was there. Nyhavn, the waterfront area full of restaurants, is just a few minutes away, and honestly most of Copenhagen's attractions, from Amalienborg Palace to Christiana, are 10-15 minutes away on foot. I understand Copenhagen is an expensive city and I booked a single (at $125US a night), but the room was even smaller than my lowest expectations. I also chose to have a private bathroom, which was a mistake. The shower was the entire bathroom, which I have encountered before, but the water left from the shower never dried or drained, which is disgusting when you have to use that same bathroom for the whole day- the hotel really needs to put up a cheap shower wall or border. The furniture is IKEA-quality which was not really an issue for me. I simply took advantage of the long daylight hours and stayed out of the room was much as possible - even to read or write I found tables by the waterfront next to the hotel. Other notes - Breakfast consisted of Scandinavian staples (bread, cold meats and a cheese). The staff was very nice although that was my overall impression of Danish hospitality. What concerns me is the ratings for other hotels in this range are worse than Maritime, so take your pick - either you are in a tight space or need to commute further to see Copenhagen's marvels - I was happy to visit so many places on foot, but honestly, after three days I was happy to say goodbye to my closet.

friendly staff, willing to help. the location is excellent.Rooms in ground floor are standard, clean and the bathroom large.Drawbacks:there are no drawers to keep small things and just a metal bar as cloth hanger. The small table is low and not comfortable for writing. There is no air conditioning, a serious problem in summer. A few simple improvements could make the stay more pleasant.
The price for a single room ,one night, about 105 euros is reasonable given the fact that Copenhagen is a expensive city but i payed 16 euros for an extra breakfast, good but not outstanding, which is excessive.

Copenhagen's Hotel Maritime sits centrally located a few blocks west of Nyhavn and a few blocks south of the royal theater. It also features friendly staff and a simple buffet breakfast.

However, the hotel is essentially a good two-star hotel recommended for holiday travelers seeking only a place to rest for the night. For example, the five-story hotel lacks amenities such as a place to dine or exercise, while rooms lack conveniences such as room safes. The beds can also be small and a bit lumpy.

Copenhagen is an expensive city, and what you pay here for a room will not match up with your expectations from elsewhere, no matter where you stay. But Hotel Maritime is probably the best value you'll find in this part of the city -- and it is in an excellent location: near to Nyhavn and other beautiful spots in central Copenhagen, but on a side street so it's much less busy. It's fairly quiet, though I found on Saturday night there was noise from revellers at nearby bars and you got this even in a room at the back. (So you'll want to bring earplugs if you're as sensitive to this as I am; there was also some noise on weeknights but not as much or as late.) The rooms are small, but not excessively tiny. But the breakfast spread is really excellent -- plenty of delicious Danish rolls, salami, cheese and plenty of other choices! I've stayed here twice and would probably stay here again if coming to Copenhagen. Book in advance, and you'd be hard pressed to find a comparable hotel for less money.

OK hotel and very central in Copenhagen near Nyhavn. Clean room, good breakfast. Travelled by car - had to use expencive street parking. No problems finding a parking place. Good value for Your Money.

Absolutely fantastic place, huge split level room with balcony.Hideously expensive but nothing in Copenhagen is cheap.Located a couple of hundred yards from lots of bars and restaurants.Staff are polite and efficient. The décor is a kind of minimalistic Scandanavian style. If you`re staying in Copenhagen and don`t mind paying this place is excellent.
