“Chair heaven but limited at present”
Reviewed 7 May 2014

Unfortunately, when we visited last week they were renovating the museum roof so some areas were closed off and the garden was off limits too. The entrance fee seemed a little excessive given these no-go areas.

The Hans Wegner exhibition was on, which was interesting but featured a lot of very similar chairs. Elsewhere there was an extensive display of 'storage space' items and then their general history of Danish design which covers a fantastic array of top quality work.

All in all, a reasonable place to visit but a little bit pricey. Nice little cafe too.

“Only go if......”
Reviewed 15 April 2014 via mobile

If you love Danish design...chairs, furniture and cutlery then you'll really like the design museum. If you are unsure about seeing lots of chairs of varying designs then don't. The restaurant at the end deliver delicious food. The layout of the museum is simple and really well lit. Every Danish chair you love is displayed, some you can even try. The only down side is a lack of information about each item. a detailed pamphlet would be a good alternative. The exhibition I should say as it does change, Was Hans J Wenger.

“Take your time here!”
Reviewed 29 March 2014

This is the primo museum to see and experience the Danish design in its full flavor. There were doing some roof renovations but it didn't take away from what was displayed here. Room after room of the innovative design that made Danes the leader in the field for so many years. Your need to go there when the museum is open late which Wednesday and enjoy a meal at the Klint Designmuseets Cafe. It was by accident we found it as all good travel experiences are. We had a wonderful meal at a very reasonable price. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

“Great to get a feel for Danish Design”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

I loved the design, they have some beautiful pieces and you can really get a feel for Danish/Scandinavian design and how it developed over the years. All explanatory texts are printed on the walls in English as well as Danish so the context wasn't lost on me like in some foreign museums. Worth the visit!

“Great place for an afternoon of bad weather”
Reviewed 5 March 2014

The best of Danish design, well laid out. Don't miss the glass canisters with the different kind of wood shavings to sniff in the section on furniture design. Colourful and interesting gift shop too.
