“lovely building but museum a bit disappointing”
Reviewed 2 April 2014

The Carlsberg factory building is lovely, with the wonderful elephant gate and old buildings. Not a long bike ride from town. The museum was ok, I suppose I was expecting to see more of the workings and less of the history. This is not where the beer is made nowadays. It was pleasant and the courtyard would be lovely to take a beer on a sunny day.

“When in copenhagen.....”
Reviewed 26 March 2014 via mobile

If u have come all the way to copenhagen you need to visit the brewery centre! We walked from out hotel (hotel nebo) but there is an S-Train station nearby so its easy to get to. Approx £8 entrance and u get 2 free drinks, despite other reviews i do think it is good value for money. Granted there wasnt much to do and they didnt touch much on HOW they beer is brewed the history of the brewery was detailed and the bottle collection was a highlight. Would recommend, we went on a sunday and it was very quite

As someone who's known to like a beer now any then,i found this experience quite baffling.A non working brewery giving tours showing a couple of horses, old beer wagons and some bottles, then give you two half pints of the stuff they make for buttons and charge you 10 pounds for the experience,i wonder how far i'd get on dragons den with this one, then again with the profits maybe one of the dragons may just back me.I seriously don't know how you can spend anymore than an hour and that's pushing it.Just go down the pub have a couple of pints and save the journey.

“We spent a lovely morning”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

The brewery is a bit out of the center, but by train (Engrave station) or a quick trip by bike it's easy to get here.
It's a self-guided tour, so you can take your time to walk through it. Start shows some old delivery trucks. Subsequently, it continues with the biggest collection of (full) beer bottles. Quite impressive.
Then you go to the next building where you get the full history of the development of the brewery followed an explanation of how beer gets brewed.
The end of the tour brings you to the old stables where they still keep some horses.
At the end you can chose 2 small beers from 4 different types.
All in all a very pleasant time. It took us around 2.5 hours to go through it all. I like especially the fact that you can walk through their gift shop without being pushed to buy something.
I wouldn't recommend eating in the canteen where they serve the beer. The portions are rather small.

This is a great place to enjoy a cold beer and learn about the founder of Carlsberg Brewery and how it all started. A Classic piece of Danish culture
