“Work trip”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

I was on a work trip with my wife. Since it was paid by work, we expected the hotel to be amazing. The hotel was very clean, quiet, and wonderful location. But with the hotel being expensive we expected the hotel to wow us. It did not do that. The hotel would have been equal to a Best Western in the states. Copenhagen is a walking city, so the location is something you cannot beat. I can see how some people love this hotel and how some people are indifferent regarding the hotel. This hotel will not wow you in a bad or good way. I am one of those people indifferent with the hotel.

As you write, we have a perfect location in the middle of Copenhagen close to Shopping, restaurants, sights and more.
I am very sorry to learn that not all your expectations were met. We always do our outmost to service our guests in a warm way. I truly hope we will be able to present new and more modern rooms very soon.

We hope to welcome you again in the very near future.

Denmark in November is not the most well lit place to begin with so agree with the previous commenter that this places needs some more floor lighting or a rewire to get install more overhead lights ! However this is a nice hotel in a great location, with clean, otherwise well-designed rooms and a surprisingly nice restaurant.

When you first arrive in this hotel everything seems fine. Nice lobby and reception area. Bar and restaurant that look oke. The disappointment hits you when you arrive in your room. We had the second most expensive. A Deluxe room. However in the middle of the room you bump into a concrete pillar. There is no wardrobe (cupboard), just 3 open shelves to put your clothes on? No working airco and the rooms are very warm. No welcome/services information in the room . No info on how to work wih the roomsafe. Result I could not get the thing working. Tiny showercabin, no bath. No make up/shaving mirror (5 star hotel?). On the Tv 4 Arab stations but no International News stations. On the website they promise un upgrade to a room with a balcony, well forget it. And what really disappointed me, in the bar no Barcadi (in an inernational 5 star hotel) but some cheap repacement. So for the same money book another hotel.

Greetings from Copenhagen and thank you for bringing your comments to our attention. It is feedback like yours that help us improve our service, so it’s highly appreciated. May I also express my thanks to you for choosing to stay at Skt. Petri.

I regret to learn that not all aspect of your stay met your expectations.
All our rooms have Air Condition, should it for some reason not work you can always contact reception and we will repair it or do our best to find another room.

We have had problems with out TV-system over and we therefor changed it in early December and we now have a vide range of international channels in all our rooms. Our Room Info book was updated in November, so I am truly sorry to hear that you did not find one in your room, as it has instructions for the safe, air condition, shower ect.

Skt. Petri is located in a historical building that previously was the home a famous Danish department store. This means that the architects had to design around some structural elements leaving a few rooms with a pillar in the room, which I understand can be frustrating for some of our guests.

We have 55 rooms with balcony. These rooms are available on request or for an upgrade amount from DKK 300, so I am rally sorry to hear that you were let to believe that it was always available.

The Bar has a view range of international spirits but we will of course consider taking Barcardi in our range of spirits.

It was never our intention to cause that much disruption to your stay and I really wish you would have contacted the reception, so we could have found you a room that lived up your expectations. We always strive to provide the highest levels of service at all times and I must agree that on these occasions we did not.

Best regards,

Louise Snedker

Loved this hotel. The staff was great for check in/out. The room was a great size with a tub and shower. Large bed, great workspace and very fast in room internet.

The location was nice, easy walking distance to all the local attractions. The morning breakfast, which was included in the room rate, was fantastic

Would stay at this hotel again on a return visit to Copenhagen

Returned to Copenhagen and much enjoyed this hotel compared to prior booking at another (see separate review). Large room with comfortable bed; hotel conveniently located in heart of city center -- nice strolling right outside the front door, to Stroget or historic sites. Slept with window open.
On downside, the big desk was also a big black hole of darkness: definitely needs a desk lamp or ceiling light above. Walls are banged up and need some refreshing. Gym has good equipment but is tiny.
That said, I would stay again.

An enjoyable long weekend in Copenhagen. It was our wedding anniversary and the hotel kindly upgraded us to a junior suite. Very large corner suite, with comfy bed and clean and spacious bathroom. Great location, near all sights and Stroget shops. Very easy to take Metro from airport to Norreport station too (only 35 Kr, cheaper than a coffee!).
Would recommend. Only quibble is lack of hotel/things to do information in our room, (quite unusually and haven't come across before). Breakfast buffet plentiful and tasty too.
Tip : Visit the Louisiana Museum (about 30 km north of Copenhagen). Great seaside location (can see Sweden across the water), great art and enjoyable Arctic Exhibition too.

Room Tip: We chose Room 316 (corner suite) which was perfect

It's a strange hotel where I was getting confused all the time, starting from the entrance. When you walk in the street the hotel sign is hardly noticeable. When you succeed finding the entrance, you are challenged to find the reception. Hint: it's on the first floor, you should use elevator or escalator to get there.

The room had a strange smell like it used to be a smoking one. Bathroom had a leaking tap and slow-flushing toilet, another strange thing.

Cleaning was also weird - on the second day of my stay they just put a clean glass on my table, that's it, nothing else!

After check-out my card was charged for breakfast, which was included into the room price, and which was confirmed to me during check-out, so I had to look for the way to get my money back.

There was one positive thing about this hotel: good location in the center.

Greeting from Skr. Petri and thank you for bringing your comments to our attention, may I also express my thanks to you for choosing to stay with us.

Please accept my most sincere apologies for the disappointments that you experienced during your stay with us. It was never our intention to cause that much disruption to your stay.

We strive to provide the highest levels of service at all times and I must agree that on these occasions we did not.

Your comments regarding Housekeeping are really choking to me, as all our rooms are cleaned everyday. I am truly sorry and embarrassed if they only changed the glass in your room. We will go over our procedures to make sure this does not happen again.

The reception in staffed 24 hours and we always do our out most to ensure that our guests are satisfied with their room. Should the guest for some reason not like the room we will always do our best to relocate the guest.

Skt. Petri is located in a historical building right in the city centre of Copenhagen, where you up till 1999 would find famous department store, Dalles Varehus.

I am very sorry to hear about the after charge of your credit card. Please be note that this is not a regular occurrence, but that we do hold the right to charge any outstanding amount after check out. In this case we clearly made a mistake, which I am really sorry for.

Best regards,

Louise Snedker
