“Perfect for conference”
Reviewed 24 January 2013

This place is not really a hotel but more a conference center. This means on the positive side that it is excellent for meetings, has ample of facilities for spare time, and very good breakfast. On the negative side it is far away from "everything" and the rooms do not really feel like normal hotel rooms. While I stayed here, the hotel was full due to a large conference and maybe therefore, there was no warm water for showering in the morning (others also complained). Not good when snow outside. Should also mention that sound between rooms very clear which meant that the heavy snoring from the room beside me bothered my sleep every night.

I arrived at 8:00 on a Sunday morning, after a flight from the U.S. I got immediate access to my room, and enjoyed a wonderful breakfast. As mentioned by others, one would need a cab or a car to get here. It's near some major roads, but I didn't see any restaurants within a reasonable walking distance. That was fine for me, since the food served here was excellent. The restaurant staff were friendly and courteous.

I thought my room was better than how some described. The bed was on the small side compared to US standards, but more than adequate for me. There was a desk with a comfortable chair, a flat-screen TV with approximately 15 channels, some of which showed US programs and/or classic movies. The bathroom was more spacious than some, with a nice shower and counter space above the sink. My room had a fairly large sliding glass door that let in plenty of daylight.

There is a fitness center on the lower (below ground) level with a universal-type machine, a treadmill, an elliptical machine, some free weights, and exercise balls. No windows, but two TVs there to pass the time.

As other have mentioned, there is a path that goes through some farmland and leads to a lake. It's probably about ten-minute walk.

In looking back, I think the high point was the food. If this place was closer to home (and not 7000 miles away), it would probably be on my list of regular dining spots. I would definitely stay here again if I was in this area.

Room Tip: I was on the first floor, facing the path to the lake.

Hard to mark this one as a 4/5 - I would really like to mark this as a 3.5.
It's very hard to compare this with other hotels because it's not a hotel - it's a conference centre, set in parkland with a walk down to a lovely lake. The food is plentiful, healthy (if that's what you are looking for) and the dinners are excellent.
As a place of work it's great. As somewhere to stay it's fine for the food and surroundings, but the rooms are very functional, rabbit hutches with beds the size I remember from University Halls of Residence (those single beds you fall out of if you are used to sleeping in a double).
It is focused on function and lacks SOUL. Does this matter? Well actually, I think it does....at the end of a long day you need a space to relax. You also need somewhere you can get a coffee (you have to go to the restaurant to get this) or some water (didn't succeed on that one - would have been good to have a bottle / jug of water in the room).
Not suitable for staying for a break - this is work-work-work focused and left me thinking that the absence of SOUL in a place really does matter. Nowhere nearby to get out and escape for dinner either...

Room Tip: Don't stay here for a holiday...

Kollekolle is a very good conference centre close to Furesoen and open landscape. Meeting facilities are good. The restaurant is superior. The rooms are ok, but not something that you dream about. All in all - good value for money.

Very clean as expected in Denmark, lovely food if limited menu, stunning surrounding scenery, good free wifi coverage. Fantastic scotch selection in the bar.

KolleKolle is a bit in the middle of nowhere (at least for me that does not really know the place). But the hotel is clean and nice, very good service from waiters and so on. They responded quickly when I asked for more juice alternatives for breakfast.

Only tiny thing to comment on the down side must be that the single beds are quite small.

Bonus is the closeness to the nice lake. :) Worth a stay for business outside Copenhagen, for a tourist you can find a more convenient location.

Room Tip: Rooms on the ground floor have window out ot people playing a kind of golf. Ask for a room on first...

Big room in a chalet in the middle of a garden. Good breakfast, nice service, free internet.
You need a car to get there.
