“Good location but lack of marketing approach”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 June 2014

A good location but i was a little bit surprised with strict minimum approach be it about the room where there is no minibar service -to be frank i like using the fridge for some snacks
Breakfast was also within the strict minimum approach no big choice for diet seekers it could be improved
Third, when checking out you need to pay a 20 dkr for your luggage if you want to leave it at the hotel.
So the strict minimum appproach is used to reduce room price but still not that much reduction gains

I was here for Eurovision Song Contest in early May, so it was hard to get a hotel room at reasonable price (Copenhagen is expensive at first place). However, Wakeup Copenhagen Borgergade does offer a quite appealing price (It wasn't even listed when I tried to book a hotel room in the beginning of 2014).

It is also centrally located, about 5 minutes walk to a the shopping street Strogot, metro station "Kongens Nytorv" (which you can get to the International Airport in less than 30 minutes), Nyhavn (New Heaven) area (where we could hop on some water bus, even a shuttle boat to Eurovision Island). There is a 7-11 just around the corner (which opens 24 hours). There are also a few bars around the corner. Baresso Cafe (which is like Denmark's Starbucks) is only another block away.

About the hotel itself - the room is small but efficient. I like their Scandinavian style - simple but chic. They don't really clean your room daily, but do leave new soaps and shampoo for you. It is not fancy but convenient and well-functioned.

They don't really have "luggage storage" service like a regular hotel. However, there are lockers in its basement. These are lockers like those you find in a train station. For 20 Danish Krone, the price is all right. However, you can come back anytime of the day to retrieve it.

The breakfast buffet was not included in my booking and I did not try it (I usually just like to have a coffee and a pastry for breakfast). However, at 70 Danish Krone per person, I think the price is decent.

The only negative point is that it is not yet finished (as of May 2014), there was still construction right outside the main entrance area. However, I think once this is done, the hotel should be even better.

This hotel is in a very good location in Copenhagen, its new, its nice, its reasonable prices, breakfast ok, breakfast staff is very nice, reception people helpful. Close to Metro, busses and lots of sights, restaurants and bars, but still it is quit and peaceful at the hotel. BUT one thing I just cannot accept without complaining is the fact that the housekeeping dont respect the "dont disturb" signs you put on the door ! Today they kept banging on my door and shout "housekeeping, housekeeping, housekeeping " at 9.15 ! I wanted to sleep a little longer today and checkout was at 11.00 so I put the "dont disturb" on the door. The housekeeping dont give a f... :-( that NOT allright !

Hotel locations is good (very close to "Strøget"), and first impression is nice. Staff is friendly and helpfull. Rooms are very small, and more or less just a bed, shover and toilet. Could have been cleaner. Breakfast is ok, but was quickly crowded, and there could have been more chioces.

If you are looking for leisure then I must say that that this hotel has got a very good location. For business travellers it's not a great location.
The hotel staff was very friendly and courteous. The brekast has very limited options. Its probably good if you are a Scandinavian. No warm food offered for bfast.

Taxis and public transport is not far away. The rooms are cramped! ! If u just wanna go and sleeo its fine.. dont expect a lot from this hotel.

Great location to discover the city center.Only some minutes away of the metro station! Close to the amazing Nyhavn port and the Amalienborg Palace! Rooms were small but cosy! Staff very helpfull, especially when needed to make a phonecall abroad and print out some pages( paid for them though about 60 Dkk for two pages)... Breakfast not included! THe decoration in the lobby very modern and minimal! The luggage room was too small, few space to leave your luggage and need to pay 20 dkk per item! If unlock you must pay again!

Wakeup is a nice, but sterile hotel with modern and efficient room with good digital TV. Location is very central for visits to the old parts of the city; everything around the next corner. Paring is very expensive: DKK 200 per night.
