What a very friendly hotel! It has a garden at the back for drinks or breakfast. Bicke rental. Decoration with a contemporary oriental feel. High double beds and fantastic breakfast with natural products, four different home made breads and leaf teas. The spice based toiletries help relax ones feet after a day walk. We spent four nights and highly recommend it. 15min walk from the cetral station but there is a regular bus that takes 5min. That same bus skirts around the city centre so one can always return home in short time

This hotel is located somewhat off the beaten path of the main tourist center, roughly a 20 minute walk west of the Central Train Station & Tivoli Gardens, in a bustling part of town characterized by a multi-ethnic mix of residential & commercial buildings, It feels like you're in "real Copenhagen" surrounded by residents, business people, shops & restaurants that cater to locals, not tourists. It has a mellow vibe, very helpful staff, and a terrific inner courtyard that's perfect for an early morning breakfast or late afternoon glass of wine. The large lobby gives a great street view and is enjoyable for a drink, read, or just relaxing. Guests are a mix of tourists, business travelers, and a wide range of demographics age-wise. Our room was small but clean and cozily decorated with Asian-inspired furnishings and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom, on the other hand, was tiny -- so much so I had to stand in the doorway to use the sink! If you're looking for luxurious bath accommodations, this probably isn't the place for you.

Room Tip: If you like quiet, ask for a room facing the courtyard

Dear alfadog

Thank you for posting a review of your recent stay with us.

You have been extremely generous in your praise, and quite honest with your critique.

Our bathrooms are not the largest, as you point out. I have in previous replies on this subject also indicated that they are fully functional, fulfilling their purpose and allowing guests to maintain personal hygiene.

Thanks again, and I do wish you a pleasant summer.

Bertrams is situated quite centrally on a busy street, which means lots of cafes, restaurants and shops in vicinity. We were lucky to get a room facing the garden. Miracle of Danish cities: quiet, beautiful and often spacious backyards and gardens hidden right behind busy streets. The room was dominated by a beautiful and very comfy bed. Big city=small spaces :) The staff of the hotel were open and friendly, breakfast food - varied and delicious. Staying at Bertrams was like traveling somewhere further in the world - exotic natural decorations, multi - ethnic staff. And of course, it felt good to use organic bath supplies, and eat organic food!

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view :)

My husband and I have stayed here now twice and have had a very good experience both times and would recommend it. The staff are very helpful and friendly and will help with providing suggestions on restaurants in the area. The breakfasts are phenominal, really amazing- they do an excellent job. The owner even shared with us the recipe for the banana bread which is excellent and remembered us from our last visit a year ago which was nice. When we go back again to Copenhagen we will stay here again!

Room Tip: There are rooms with balconies and bathtubs or showers so if you have a preference note it and the h...

Dear StingroseKFo

I an most grateful for your return visit this year, it was a pleasant surprise, and the greatest compliment that you can offer us. What pleases me even more is that you have decided to share this with the TripAdvisor community.

We strive to provide good old fashioned hospitality, one of the reasons why we have such a high level of repeat corporate business, and to some extent visits like yours.

Wishing you a great summer, and looking forward to your next surprise visit.

Small , cute hotel run by charming brothers very close to the center of town.
The rooms are small but clean , the bathroom was very tiny....
Wish we had asked for a room to the back of the hotel as the hotel is right on the main road and was very noisy.
However the landlords were very helpful in making sure we were comfortable and giving good advice on where to go for dinner, shopping and sightseeing.
All in all a nice experience.

Room Tip: The front rooms are very noisy as the hotel is right on the main road.

First step: Accept the fact that hotel rooms in Copenhagen are ridiculous in their size. Second step: Accept that they are also very expensive. Done. After those little bumps on the road you can really start enjoying this fairly small hotel in central Copenhagen. We spent five nights here during January and the experience was really enjoyable.

There were some odd things, like cleaners running in halls which made a lot of noise to our room, but overall these were small downsides. The hotel has a really nice tropical theme and lot of wood is used in interiors.

Breakfast was really amazing, so even though it is fairly expensive, it is worth the money, especially during the weekend.

I can't say that the hotel is excellent quality for money since it is very expensive, but like I said in the beginning - Copenhagen is a pretty odd place when it comes to hotel rooms. At least in this place you get what you pay for.

I loved staying at Bertrams Guldsmeden. We stayed over a weekend and the room was great. I really appreciate the Bali-style of the interior design. The breakfast is ecologic but the one thing I missed out was fresh orange juice - or other fresh fruit juices. I had a massage on Sunday and it was like beeing sent to heaven, my headache disappeared and my back felt so much better. This is where I will stay next time I go to Copenhagen again!

Dear Maria G

I much appreciate the time you have taken to post a review about your most recent visit.

I am pleased to read that you find the ambience appealing, and even more happy to read that your massage was relieving.

I, however do not fully comprehend your feedback on juices, as we do have a selection of fruit juices, as well as smoothies on our breakfast buffet.

Wishing you a pleasant summer.
