“Nice hotel”
Reviewed 29 August 2012 via mobile

The style of the hotel is modern and minimalistic.
Rooms are ok and bath room was clean.
Wifi is free, and the hotel has a very good breakfast buffet.
The hotel is next door to a shopping centre and close to a water channel. Try going for a jog along the channel or drop into one of the channel cafés. The hotel is not so centrally located, but still the central station and Tivoli are only a 15 min. walk away. A train station is a 2 minute walk away.

I have no complaints about my stay there, and would recommend the hotel, if you don't have to live bang in the middle of everything.

Stayed two nights in June 2012; business trip.
It's new; its minimalist; it's glass and light and airy. It's contemporary. It's everything a brand new hotel is but with one major drawback: its in the middle of nowhere interesting.
Reception was efficient and polite.
The room, single, was compact, white (and I mean really really white), with mirrors artfully placed. Bed was short. All the facilities were there: TV, wi-fi (but very weak signal), sparklong clean bathroom. Nice view over the water to another plate glass modern building.
Breakfast was good although layout of room means a crush around the food. A free PC with printer for printing boarding pass.
So what is there not not like? Location. Copenhagen is expanding along the waterfront. Or rather squeezed between an urban motorway and the waterfront. Contemporay buildings, variations on boxes of glass and concrete with fun post modern stick-ons. OK but the metro is the other side of the urban motorway; there are no buses or trams out front.
On a business trip with the host or an expense account paying for taxis the hotel is fine. If the host provides a group mini-bus then fine. But otherwise the distance from the city centre.. (and it is at least 25 minutes to the nearest definition of city centre and more to the real centre) reduces the appeal of the hotel to the tourist trade.

Room Tip: Better views from the water rather than inland side.

Typical Scandinavian minimalist style of hotel interior. Nice white rooms with dark wooden floors. Bath tub and big bath rooms in general. It is worth going for a superior room just for the few extra square meters. Try to get a room with a view towards the sea side.

Fine breakfast and good fitness centre.

The location is close to the city centre but still a bit off. Worth keeping in mind.

We just spent 5 days in this hotel. Location is interesting. It is only a short walk to a small train station that is one stop from the main station. You can walk to the main station in about 15 mins. The view of the water is nice. The design is modern and interesting. It was great to have AC. I have three complaints, and I only write them here because I think the hotel can improve on this: the sheets are not of good quality and likely of poly blend, blankets and mattress are also not what I would expect in 4star hotel, there was a lot of trash floating in the water close to the entrance of hotel which makes for a very unappealing first impression.

Room Tip: Ask for a water view

I prefere the Copenhagen Island hotel more than The Cube. Like this modern style. If you like jogging, you will find nice trail around the cannel beside the hotel. I been in this hotel couple times and in some rooms I had a problem with wifi connection - the signal was really poor. The hotel itself is in walking distance to Copenhagen downtown - Tivolli etc. Good for bussines trip, but for honeymoon I will choose something else.

Unpleasant, bored and unhelpful reception staff, microscopic beds and tiny room, cleanliness so-so, located far from the center, broken material (lamp kept switching on during the night), too-narrow and useless curtains. Surprisingly disappointing, considering the high price.

I stayed in Copenhagen Island hotel when my girlfriend and I visited Copenhagen for a romantic getaway. The hotel is new and modern and the view from our room was nice. Everything worked as you would expect, and we even had a bottle of bubbly included in the price. However the area is very boring and an industrial zone is between this hotel and the rest of the inner city so we used a taxi to go to other parts of town.

I would say it is better for businesspeople then for couples or families.

Included breakfast was as expected and free wifi was good.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the river.
