We stumbled upon this place soon after arriving in Copenhagen. We were avoiding the rain and decided to pop in for a feed.

My partner ordered a burger and I ordered the liver. When the food came out, we were shocked at how big the servings were. It looked great and more importantly it tasted great.

The service was good and the price was reasonable. We were so full we didn`t get a chance to try the desserts on offer, however after looking at the desserts served to our neighbors, we were certain we had definitely missed out.

Highly recommended.

We went on recommendation from friendly locals, and were not disappointed. The food is honest-to-goodness rather than spectacular, but in an expensive city it stands out as a half-decent place to go for value. The staff were friendly as was the atmosphere, chock full of happy locals.

We where recommended this restaurant by friends. The restaurant is in the same building as Hvits Vinstue, a favourite pub in Copenhagen when visiting this lovely town.
Skindbuksen is full of atmosphere and you don’t expect a gourmet meal. Our food was average, nothing to brag about. The waiters was in good spirit and had a good time with the guests.. When asking for the bill, the waiter said, “are you leaving now when the live music start”? We hesitated paid our bill and ordered a new round of drinks. The restaurant soon was packed with people singing and enjoying themselves. We had a great time, singing along with the guy who played a guitar singing old favourite songs.
When asking for our final drink bill, we where handed a hand written peace of paper. One of our party paid the sum without taking a close look. When we returned to the hotel she showed us the peace of paper and we could see that we where overbilled.
Perhaps we paid for the drinks the waiters drank? We don’t know.
Skindbuksen is as mentioned full of atmosphere and people enjoying themselves as we did. The downside is that we felt was cheated after paying our fake bill that also is a clear indication that they cheat the owner and the tax authorities.

This place has been a pleasant surprise. Food was very good: i had soup of the day which was cream of asparagus and a steak as a main course. Both were very tasty and reasonable in size. The great thing of this place is that during your meal you can socialize with the owners and other guests. Be ready that on weekends, by 9:30 pm a music show will take place. Me and my fiancee ended up dancing on the table along with some austrian bunch of folks. What a great night that was.
Highly recommended.

Having lived in Denmark in the past we were seeking a good down to earth smørrebrød lunch and were not disappointed. Located behind the bar Hviids Vinstue on Kongens Nytorv, we were concerned it may be a tourist trap, however apart from one Swede, we appeared to be the only tourists! Thursday lunchtime and lucky we had a reservation. The portions were large, more herring than would fit on the bread, a large cholestrol-threatening slab of leverpostej for the Dyrlægens natmad, the fish fillet and roast beef sandwiches were also very good sizes. A couple of beers and aquavits and the whole lot came out less than dkk500. Great ambience and great service in the restaurant which is a couple of hundred years old. Will visit next time in town
