Madame Spunck is a very cozy place with charm and atmosphere. The staff is very friendly and all in all I would recommend trying something from their varied menu. We were 15 people there for a set menu with wine. The starters were fine, very nicely laid up and with exciting combinations of salt and sweet. The main course was a beef that was not at all tender, and most of us ended up not eating more than half. Quite surprising for us since we believe the cooks were first class and did a good job with the rest. But to be fair, upon notifying the staff of our feeling about the beef we were served we cot a complimentary cognac as a small compensation for failing with the main course. The dessert was very nice (chocolate mousse) The wine package was also ok, but comparing this to a different restaurant up the street where we were the night before, and paid the same price,- the quality of the food & wine was not comparable at all. Madame Spunck is good, but is outcooked by same price restaurants in the area. Still, the service was good, and I would give it another try if I come back, just to see if I was unlucky.
