“Brilliant Tearoom”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

The Bird In Bush tearoom was and excellent find this weekend. We were touring round Northumberland and came across a beautiful little village called Elsdon. We spotted a quaint tearoom called the Bird In Bush with a welcoming look to the place. We went in and found a hidden gem. Lovely oak beams, massive wood burning stove and lots of seating space. We took a table by the window which has lovely views across the tree covered green and ordered from the very pleasant lady waitress. Wow! the food was scrummy to say the least, we had the best quiche we've tasted and followed with a excellent piece of strawberry and cream cake each all washed down with some very good coffee.
The whole experience of the Bird In Bush tearoom was excellent and we would thoroughly recommend anyone visiting the Northumberland area to call in and enjoy the great food and lovely atmosphere. You can even have a glass of wine of ale brought to you while your eating from the ajoining bar.
A brilliant discovery, which we will definitely be visiting again when we come back to Beautiful Northumberland.

“The Best Tearoom, With Fabulous Food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 June 2014

The Bird In Bush Tea Room is head and shoulders above any other tearoom in the area. It is beautifully furnished with a fantastic rustic charm and ambience. The Tearoom is attached to a charming country pub but is totally separated from the bar area, with it's own entrance to the right of the pub. The food is absolutely splendid and extremely good value for money. I have had the some of the best food I've ever eaten here, and I'm very fussy. The pies, cakes and quiches are in a league of their own and everything is homemade and fresh. The portion size's are excellent as is the wonderful service and friendly atmosphere. Since the closure of the Coach House in Elsdon, the batton for excellence and quality has been well and truly handed over to the Bird in Bush Tearoom.
One word of warning though, make sure you go to the Bird in Bush Tearoom and not the Old School House which is across the road. The Old School House is awful to say the least.
I would recommend the Bird In Bush Tearoom to everyone who enjoys exceptional food in fantastic surroundings.
A massive thank you to Sharon, the lovely owner of the Bird In Bush Tearoom for always making us welcome and serving us amazing food.

Pretty little Elsdon. A few from my walking group called in recently after enjoying the lovely scenery for a couple of hours. We were made very welcome and there were some locals there too. The cakes were nice and the teapots a good size. This place is worth calling into but phone ahead and check open days.

“Faulous food to die for!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 October 2013

The Bird in Bush tea room is to the right of the pub In the beautifully picturesque village of Elsdon and is a seperate part of the building. The tea room is very quaint with a lovely country atmosphere and décor and is immaculate inside. This is the best place to eat in the area by a long way and everything is homemade to a very high professional standard by the lovely lady who owns the Bird in Bush.
The food is wonderful, with homemade savouries and cakes to die for. I've had some of the nicest traditional food I've ever eaten here and wholeheartedly recommend this gem of a tea room to everyone who appreciates great food, lovely surroundings and very reasonable prices.
Do yourself a favour and pay the Bird in Bush a visit. You won't be disappointed!
