We've just got back to the cold UK from the 25 plus degree heat of N Cyprus..
Even after arriving in the Dark when we got there, we could still tell that the villa was amazing. Better than the pictures could paint.
The villa itself is tucked just up into the hillside among a small development of similar properties. Sitting proudly behind its own drive and gates the villa is wonderfully spacious and luxurious for 6/8 people.. 8 could be a squeeze but could be accommodated.
Each room is more than adequate with the upstairs rooms having en-suites, the master having a wonderful balcony to lounge on.
Having a private pool was great.. and we made good use of it!
The villa is well equipped in all senses, I don't think anything and I do mean anything..has been forgotten?
Big 40" TV and WiFi comes in useful for watching DVD's etc. and bragging how good your holiday is to friends on facebook!
I attached my android tablet through an HDMI cable to watch some recorded shows but if your planning on keeping up with UK TV then you'll need to do your homework first. (Proxy servers/VPN - services like BBC iplayer are UK restricted)
I only sussed it out in the last few days (app called Hidninja) which was a bit late.. but not that there was going to me much call for it with the good weather. Was just nice though on an evening as we spent quite a few nights 'in'. DVDs are very cheap there... ;-)
Paddy, the local agent was on hand for a general chat and help with any little issues.
Utilities can be quite expensive as the owner, Roger, will explain to you - however, we managed on the battery/solar system that has been installed. Free power!
This is the second rental we've had from Roger and as usual, its been a pleasure dealing with him again. We're already looking into our next!
Tips - Eating Out - Cafe George in town, Mardo, The Lodge, Bollywoods, Upper Crust, Spaghetti Junction.
Take out - Hot Chix (KFC) Burger City (inside Lemar - better than Burger King) ... and say hi to 'Dave' in wee pizza place next to Tempo shop. Lovely man.... his chips are to die for!
Shopping - Tempo (Tesco?) Supreme (Morrisons?) and Ekonomik locally are all good shops with pros/cons between them.
Dont do duty free at airport! Local shops sell good priced top branded spirits.
..and some others 'Galibou' £4 a bottle.... just as good as a similar sounding spirit!:-)
Dont be tempted to bring much over the border back... be warned!
Visits - Bellapais Abbey - a must. Famagusta - especially Verosha (do the homework) combined with Salamis ruins. Kyrenia town. And if you like a drive... from Esentepe up through the mountains... wow!
If you have kids... or are a big one like me - ZET Karting out towards Nicosia -well worth an afternoon at the biggest circuit I've ever seen.
All in all - a wonderful sun filled holiday complemented by an amazing Villa and A1 service.
If you're thinking about N Cyprus... be sure to get in touch with Roger.
You wont be disappointed.
