“Adorable, cosy and home from home!!”

An adorable well equipped cottage. You want for nothing staying here, Helen & Chris has thought of everything you would need from the welcome pack to supplying the wood for the burners, a picnic basket and even a dishwasher!! A short walk to the picturesque river and picnic area and the local friendly bar/restaurant (excellent food and hospitality) well worth a visit and very reasonable. Thank you for a wonderful opportunity to share your holiday home during Easter.

“Fantastic peaceful cottage”
Reviewed 8 November 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Cliff Cottage is a pretty 200 year old cottage set into the cliff of Le Roc close to Vouleme and several market towns, Ruffec, Civray and Lizant. It is very well laid out with further work to improve the facilities with a another room being added on the ground floor. It is a well laid out cottage with parking on either side and a sunny aspect. The area is great for walks and other country pursuits. St Macoux is worth a visit as are a number of other lakes and parks in the area. We had a thoroughly enjoyable month here. The neighbours are very friendly and it is an area with a high English population. There is a local bar Ednas in walking distance and good fish and chips and pizza locally in Lizant and worth a visit. September is a busy time in the area as the farmers are bringing in the crops of sunflowers and sweetcorn so plenty of activity passing during the day but not intrusive. Also the local cycle clubs pass during their autumn road racing season and is a great sight to see a bit of a mini Tour de France. I would thoroughly recommend a visit to this beautiful rural area.

an excellent gite in a delightful area and easy to locate. It was an airy comfortable cottage with good quality equipment and furnishings throughout particularly in the kitchen.
It is an interesting area with a local bar restaurant called 'edna's' which was fun and sold a good steak and had an excellent curry evening.Further afield there is much to explore. We really enjoyed the trip as well as meeting the neighbours stuart and lynda who were extremely helpful and good fun.
