“Beautiful, natural, easy walk”
Reviewed 2 March 2014

We enjoyed a leisurely walk around the springs, stopping along the way to enjoy the views of the turquoise waters and very green vegetation. I filled my water bottle at two of the springs and the water was so sweet...............so good not to taste the chlorine of town water. You pass through a small forest of redwoods..................these would be bigger than the famous Tane Mahuta, which we saw on the west coast between Dargaville and Opononi, but nearly as old. Redwoods can grow huge, like the ones in Muir Woods, California.

“Delightful area, beautiful trees ,very peaceful, lots of birds !”
Reviewed 1 March 2014

Do stop here for a little walk, about an hour very leisurely.Loads of ducks around and Canada geese too.Along the stream is very pretty then you cross over and walk through the redwoods to the source of the spring ,which is 15 metres deep and crystal clear! There are various information boards which tell you all about it and the surroundings.A good ,free thing to do !

“Breathtakingly beautiful attraction in Rotorua”
Reviewed 6 February 2014

If you have an hour for a walk in Rotorua, visit the Hamurana Spring Reserve. The spring water here is as clear as you would ever see and it's simply breathtakingly beautiful! The scenery rivals one of the most famous scenic attractions in Sichuan China. A friend even asked if I had visited Avatar. The walk is an easy 45mins around the spring and Redwood forest. Definitely a hidden gem!
