We stayed here twice (in January 2011 & in February 2011) with our two Pointers. We had a wonderful stay on both occasions. Keepers Cottage is exceptionally quiet & comfortable, & the main house is gorgeous - full of very unusual Jacobin antiques. Chris & Margaret are outstanding hosts and could not have made all four of us feel more welcome. The Staffordshire & Derbyshire countryside is very beautiful even in the depths of winter. Well worth a very large detour if you are ever within 50 miles of Manor House Farm.

Room Tip: Keepers Cottage is self-contained with its own kitchen, living room, log fire, two bathrooms, & two bedrooms.

An amazing stay at Manor House Farm. Definitely would go back, we have already recommened to friends and family. We arrived late friday night, on arrival Chris and Margaret came out to meet us. Minutes before they had helped one of their cows give birth.
Charming B&B that is also part of a working farm. The owners are welcoming and both excellent hosts. The manor house has gorgeous landscaped gardens and decorated with beautiful antique furniture . This is a great location for exploring Alton and minutes away from Alton Towers theme park.
The last day Chris gave us a tour around the farm. We were able to see their pet pig Penelope which they hand reared and the Calf born the day before.

Manor House Farm near Uttoxeter is a charming old fashioned bed and breakfast that is part of a working farm. The welcome is warm and friendly and within minutes we were on first name terms. Shown to the room it was clear that the previous occupant was still there - a rather friendly black cat. Returning from a splendid dinner with as it turned out another local farmer it was time for an early night cap and the comfortable double bed. The summer heat was such that opening the window was a necessity. In that happy semi conscious state there was suddenly a sound of contented purring sound that clearly wasn't the spouse but the previous occupant. Nothing for it but to turf the cat out through the bedroom door. Minutes later a cat burglar arrvices through the window. And so it continued until dawn. After all, the spouse said, it is the country! Breakfast lived up to its expectations, however, and we even had a chat about farming.

We travelled up by motor bike and were met in the very lovely gardens by Chris who made us feel welcome straight away. He helped carry our luggage to our rooms which were fantastic. It was like staying in a small Elizabethan stately home. There was nothing forgotten, even bathrobes in the four poster bathroom!
The gardens were beautiful and full of quirks and surprises. The breakfast was great with choice of cereals, fruit, yoghurts as well as a wonderful cooked selection of local produce.
We had only booked one night which we instantly regretted as soon as we drove up! We wanted to have time to sit in the visitors lounge and take in all the wonderful items that make it so enchanting. It is like going back in time and we wouldn't have been surprised to see Oliver Cromwell join us for tea.
We will definitely return and can't wait to soak up the atmosphere.
Thank you Chris we will see you again.

Room Tip: The four poster rooms were great

By far the best B&B we have stayed in. Beautiful house, lovely bedroom, gorgeous gardens, really friendly and welcoming owners, brilliant breakfast, set in wonderful peaceful countryside, great value, and only a few minutes drive to Alton Towers. What more could you want? Fantastic. 10 out of 10!

Room Tip: Red Room is beautiful and had everything we wanted
