We returned from our trip to Alton Towers last Sunday 26th October. We all had an absolutely fantastic time.

We have stayed in several hotels in Alton Towers over the years, but Heywood Hall definitely tops the bill. The owners John and Louise McCann are really lovely people, and have made us feel very much at home over the years. The rooms are of the highest standard. I would most definitely recommend Heywood Hall to anyone. We are already looking forward to our visit again in 2009.

Me, my partner and our 4 children have just returned from a 2 night stay at heywood hall. We stayed in the Elizabeth Suite, which had 2 double beds and 2 singles, our own kitchen, bathroom and shower room. We arrived at around 8.30pm on sunday night after a long day in Alton Towers, John was very welcoming, he showed us around our rooms and gave us lots of tips about where to eat during our stay. On our second day we enjoyed a big breakfast, which we cooked ourselves. Heywood Hall provides all the breakast foods you could dream of, you just prepare it yourself, and put your plates in the dishwasher. We loved the idea of breakfast time being more relaxed and we could also bring our own food to put in the fridge and take into alton towers. John and Louise even did some washing for us after my son spilt some hot chocolate on his clothes. The hotel is beautiful, with lovely gardens, even a little stream. We didnt have time to see the hot tub, but we loved our stay. Our room had a disco light, tv, dvds, ps2 with games and freeview, there was even some amazing painting on the walls which our kids loved, what more could you want.
We will definitely go back to this hotel.

We've just returned from a fab 2 day break at Heywood Hall.
Can only reiterate others comments - John & Louise - the owners - are very welcoming & full of ideas/tips for the local area & particularly Alton Towers theme park. Louise even lent the family some costumes as we had forgotten to bring them for the hot tub. We used this & the sauna on both nights & was very wlcome after tiring days at the park. We stayed in the Jennifer Suite which had two bedrooms plus the living area & large bathroom. Fully stocked fridge daily for you to prepare your breakfast - or a late night snack. Beautiful rooms which are out of the ordinary with the lovely murals. TV's in 3 rooms with DVD players & a playstation which our son enjoyed immensly. A brilliant place to stay.
A quick mention for the local pub - the Tavern. Food is great, menu varied, good sized portions but gets very busy so booking is essential.

My partner and I visited Heywood Hall at the end of July with her two kids aged 8 and 14. We chose it after reading the multitude of good reports on Trip Adviser and we certainly weren't disappointed.

We arrived at 10:00 after a hellish journey from Crawley to be met by Louise. She is a delight and made us feel welcome immediately. We were shown to the suite (we were in Sally) and the kids jaws dropped when they saw the decor in their room.

The suite was brilliant - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, lounge and a kitchen diner - with fully stocked fridge. Perfect. Both bedrooms have cracking murals on the walls which really adds to the atmosphere.

Heywood Hall is brilliantly located for Alton Towers and as per the other reviews - being able to come back and relax in the hot tub and sauna was a real plus.

Can't comment on the food in the local pub (The Tavern) as we arrived so late on the Friday we missed our reservation and they were full on the Saturday. We had a drink there though and it looks great.

We will definitely go back to Heywood Hall for our next visit to Alton Towers.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Heywood hall for 2 nights at the end of July. I booked this for my boyfriends 21st birthday.
Heywood hall is brilliant, we stayed here as it is only a 10 minute drive to Alton Towers which we went to Saturday & Sunday morning.
We arrived at 8.30pm Friday evening from a long 4.5hr journey from Epsom, Surrey. When we arrived we were welcomed by Louise & John the owners and felt at home straight away.
We got taken to our suite called Rebecca which was so pretty.
We had our own kitchen & living area which was great. The fridge was stocked daily with full english breakfast, cereal, fruit, biscuits, milk & orange juice. This is what was so good about this b&b, you could do it all yourself, you didnt have wake up at a specific time & go down to breakfast like normal b&bs. We loved the privacy.
The living area had a tv with lots of channels and a stack of good dvds to choice from. Also there were a choice of menus so you could call and order food to the room, including Indian.
Just outside our room was a Jacuzi & Sauna which we used, was so relaxing after a day at Alton Towers.
We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning our next trip back.
Great place to stay, great people, great location. top marks from us!
Thank you Louise & John.

We stayed here for 3 nights in July 08 - two sets of couples.

We picked here for its location close to Alton Towers and all four of us couldn't speak highly enough of Heywood Hall.

Myself and my boyfriend stayed in Victoria Suite and the other couple stayed in Rebecca. They were absolutely beautiful - great space, everything that we needed, the rooms are beautifully decorated and the four posters are a nice touch! We were also extremely impressed by the food that was added to our fridge everyday and the fact that the suites had DVD players with a collection of DVDs and digital channels! The suites are serviced to the very highest standards everyday! VERY IMPRESSIVE

The Hot Tub is a major plus too, especially after a day in Alton Towers. We used it every evening and was so relaxing!

The Lady of the house was most accomodating towards us and gives us a great run-down of what to do and where to go in the area (even if we were all like zoombies after our flight)!!! She was absolutely lovely and her recommendations were spot on!

We had an absolutely brilliant time and we have been recommending this accomodation to everyone since we came home!

Some tips - do hire a car as Alton Towers and Denstone are very isolated - beautiful countryside but a car is a must! And definetely have a meal in the pub in Denstone - its is 5 stars - nice atmosphere and gorgeous food!

Thank you Heywood Hall

This is the perfect place to stay when visiting Alton Towers or just for a romantic break. We wee made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The Sarah suite was lovely, clean, comfortable and had evrything we could need and more. We had arranged to stay our second night in a smaller but equally as nice room which again was perfect.

There is a outdoor sauna and hot tub which we made full use of after a long drive and again after walking around Alton Towers!

First class we can't wait to go back. Kim and Andy Feb 2008
