“Perfect for Alton Towers!”
Reviewed 19 July 2014

Having stayed in the AT hotel last year we realised how impractical it was with a young family if you wanted to stay up later than your children. We looked for somewhere with suites so we could have a separate bedroom from the kids but also have somewhere to spend the evening without being away from them. HH was perfect. The Tiger themed room they were in was a source of great delight to my 3 and 5 year old and I loved our Tuscan decor. The food we were left was mostly of a high standard (the pain au chocolat were under par but the cooked breakfast food in particular was lovely) and generally we had most of what we needed. Some kitchen towel would have been useful but that's about the only notable thing lacking. Additionally, we contacted the owners ahead of our stay to ask if we could charge our electric car while we were there and they were very accommodating. This made a big difference to the convenience of our stay and journey so we were very grateful for their help with this. We will definitely be back next year.

Dear Emma
Thank you very much for your review and we are so glad you and your family enjoyed yours stay and the charging facility for your car was a help.
The croissants are French, The weather was quite warm and melted the chocolate, so they may not have been as good as they could have been. We use a different supplier now.( Still French croissants of course!) .
We hope to be able to welcome you back next year.

Outstanding!! We spent one night in the Sally suite, our daughter was so amazed by her jungle themed room and we all felt the experience and stay was far superior to our second night where we stayed in one of the themed rooms at the alton towers resort. We highly recommend taking a dip in the hot tub, what a treat! The food at the local pub was great too, we will def stay again when taking the family to alton towers just wish we had booked our second night with you too!

Thank you so much for the lovely comments. It's great to hear you enjoyed your stay with us and you enjoyed the hot tub. We hope you can stay two nights next time and have time to visit the village, and the local stores which have so much to offer.
Till next time, Alison and Joseph

A wonderful hotel near to Alton Towers at half the price of hotels in theme park.
We stayed for one night yesterday.
The rooms are beautiful and spacious with a fridge full of good, bowl of fruit and pasties/cereals for breakfast.
The owners couldn't do enough for us.
The hot tub and sauna amazing and very clean.
I will not be using hotels at theme park ever again but will use this hotel from now on.

We stayed at heywood hall for one night in July 2014, although we wish we'd stayed longer.
Joseph was very welcoming on arrival, and nothing too much bother.
Close to alton towers but lovely quiet country location close to local pub and shop.

I recently booked tickets for Alton Towers for the weekend and needed to find accommodation. With the prices of the accommodation in the Alton Towers hotels and a family of 5 (two 6 year olds and a 7 month old baby) I decided to look elsewhere.

Having found the Heywood Hall and the Sally Suite available I immediately booked as it looked ideal. On arrival on the Saturday night we were shown to the suite which was so spacious and I have to say it was more than you could imaging. We had 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed and a room with twin beds where the kids had a TV and PS2. There was a beautiful kitchen with table for dining along with not 1 but 2 bathrooms. The cleanliness was impeccable and the attention to detail was incredible. As it was self catering they provide everything for you to make your own breakfast and the quality of the food was wonderful and had been bought from the farm shop close by. On top of all of this there is a hot tub and sauna outside for guests as well.

Having been in the hospitality industry and worked in hotels for over 15 years I can honestly say my stay was a complete delight in every way. It is also so refreshing to be able to relax in such wonderful accommodation where the owners have left nothing to chance and thought of everything.

It was also lovely to meet 2 owners that show such passion for what they do and that shows throughout, from arrival to an email after your stay to ask how everything was.

Without doubt I will definitely use this place again.

Room Tip: The Sally Suite was amazing and worth every penny

You don't come across many places in your travels that meet or exceed all your expectations, but occasionally you are lucky and find one, Haywood hall is just such a place. We booked three nights to take three sixteen year olds away, mainly to visit Alton towers and maybe a bit of Peak District, ideally situated for this. The accommodation is roomy, clean, private and well appointed, the B&B aspect being superbly well thought out and of excellent quality, there really is everything you could need and certainly more than you could eat.
I think the owners have done a superb job in setting up the suites and the hotel is well located , with a decent pub/restaurant and small shop just 2 mins walk round the corner. Thank you very much, we are thinking of using you again in the future.

Thank you so much for a positive report. It's goos to hear that you enjoyed the Peak District as well as Alton Towers, there is so much to see in the area, and so interesting. We hoped the food provision was enough for you and the hungry boys! Looking forward to welcoming you again soon. Alison and Joseph

This is the second time I have stayed at Heywood Hall. Last year with four 10 year olds in the Elizabeth suite and this week with five 13 year olds in the Sarah suite.
The Sarah suite is a beautiful 2 bedroom apartment - the fussy teenagers thought it was luxurious and adored the shared hot tub in the garden.
Alison and Joseph are wonderful! So welcoming and kind, and they keep the hotel spotless and perfect.
For more info please read my previous review from 3 August 2013.
Thank you very much for having us to stay again, I hope we will be back soon!
