Cosy chalets with fully modern facilities and helpful reception, complete with small gift shop. Real plus-point is the location, being sited on edge of the city you can be in the countryside within just minutes of walking, perfect conditions for enjoying the Northern Lights if you're lucky enough to see them-as virtually no light pollution...can even watch from comfort of the porch. Will definitely be returning

Probably the overall best in Kiruna, they have a multitude of accommodations, we sprung for the a cabin close to the hiking trails for darkness and Northern Lights viewing. The restaurant is expensive but highly rated, we did lunch which was had only one dish but it was excellent and cheap! Dinner is pricy, but the best in Kiruna. If you are here for Northern Lights, pick the row of cabins in the back close to the hiking trails as all you have to do is walk a few meters for complete darkness. The hiking trails face NW so it's perfect for aurora viewing. Room was a bit pricy but again excellent location. Friendly and helpful staff, free breakfast which was a nice spread of items.

I loved it here. Really nice rooms (not really rooms but little cabins next to each other), lovely view. The breakfast buffet is wonderful.

One tip the restaurant is quite expensive, unless you can appreciate really good cosine, don't eat there. Go to the arctic Thai instead to eat !!

i dont have much more to say it is really nice there. PS get a car in kiruna you will need it.

Room Tip: Get a cabin not a room !!!

We stayed a night in one of the cabins which used to be traditional holiday cabins and have been changed into hotel rooms. Our cabin could have slept four, we were just the two of us. The interior was ok to an overdone attempt at luxury - leather upholstery, relatively large flatscreen, designer style bathroom. Nevertheless there was a kitchen and one could cater for oneself only breakfast was included in the steep price of almost 1700 kronor for the night.
Location is central but the cabins are cramped together, the parking space for our cabin was a joke and the whole is overlooked by high-rise buildings of the not-so-nice type.
Clearly the owners have decided to go for conference and business customers, as a "normal" traveller you just feel ripped off. The breakfast was rather pedestrian and the buffet style without the kind of choice you'd expect at city prices. Over all we had planned for a couple of days in Kiruna and cut the visit short because of the accomodation offered. Not worth the money!

Room Tip: Ask for the smaller cabins at the back, there it seems to be quieter and maybe cheaper, we weren'...

I spent one night on campsite here before Fjallraven Classic and it was a bit crowded because of other participants but still very nice and pleasant stay. The toilet and showers were clean but you have pay extra for shower, which is pretty disappointing because price for pitching a tent was not so low comparing to other camping I know.

Pro: service, location
Con: expensive

We stayed here for three days leading up to the Fjallräven Classic. The first two nights in a hotel room (that was in fact a little house with cable tv, fridge and kettle) and one night camping.

The hotel room was clean and nice, in summer though they charge an extra fee if you want it cleaned during your stay (which we didn't as we were only staying for two nights, but something that might be worth considering for a longer stay). The bathroom was ok, although it has one of those showers that is only separated from the rest of the bathroom by a shower curtain. The floor was tilted the wrong way which meant a little flood every time one of us took a shower.

The room has lots of space to keep clothes, shoes etc. There was supposed to be wifi in the room, but due to some storm a little earlier this wasn't working. However, it wasn't much of a problem as we could use the internet in the main building. We had breakfast included which I would recommend as there is not really enough 'kitchen' to make your own.

The campsite was fine as well, there are some great spots, however there aren't any great views etc. which is a shame. Due to the event we were there for it was of course very crowded and we did not use the shower etc.

The people working at Camp Ripan are extremely nice, helpful and patient and very willing to help book tours (they do not organize the tours they advertise, so they weren't experts on the programs and possibilities, but very willing to help. The little shop they run is very expensive (when we were up in the mountains the food they sold was cheaper) so I would recommend going to the supermarket in town (that is walking distance) even for a chocolate bar.

It's a great place to stay for a few nights and see the area. It's comfortable and the people are friendly. I imagine that staying longer would get boring, but that is mostly because of the area of the world it is in; there isn't that much to do or see around there!

A very nice camping in the midst of Kiruna. Very nice restaurant, reseption, and a clean servicebuilding. Fairly nice surroundings and a fantastic outdoor pool!!

Short way to down-town Kiruna and all it's possibilities.

The tent area could be better, but it was abow satisfactory.

The service from the staff is outstanding!!

Free WiFi @ reseption building.

Recomended!!
