Höga Kusten is a large area, about 80-100 km in length and a little less in width. Situated along the coast in North Sweden, between Örnsköldsvik and Härnösand, it is an area well worth spending some time in. It helps if you have your own car, but you can get around at least some of the things by public transport, though it requires good planning. I suggest you visit Tourist Information in either Härnösand or Örnsköldsvik if you plan that option.
There are many attractions in the area, like going to the top of Skuleberget for fantastic views. Getting up there can be done by chair lift, walking/scrambling or, for the more adventurous, by Via Ferrata. High Coast also has many other things worth visiting, like a few, small fishermen's chapels some with extraordinary murals, trips to islands, interesting museum/heritage sites showing the area as it once was. For the more active there are plenty of opportunities for swimming, hiking and, in winter, skiing. Best time of year is end of June to about mid August, when weather tends to be nice and attractions are open.
