First the negative: Elite trick you with "Ads 50% discount". We only got A 30% discount and our friends None because they forgot to click "we want the summer deal"..
A hotel in this price range SHOULD Have A/C. The nights were extremly hot. (They charge over 2000SEK/night double room Aug 2014)
Positive : location is great! Nice breakfast and you can sit outside right by the docks. Nice view from rooms Towards water.

Stayed August 2014

We stayed for 2 nights while in town for a friend's wedding. Nice, reasonably sized rooms, clean with all the amendments you'd expect at a 4 star hotel. The only issue we had was the air con that wasn't working in 30 degree heat. Very unpleasant, especially when the sun was shining directly into the room. We didn't manage to get a good night's sleep and we heard from other people staying there that they experienced the same problem. Fans weren't available or maybe all taken. Everything else was fine, especially the breakfast.

Room Tip: Get a room with seaview

Clean, comfortable room, with a beautiful view of the sunset over the harbor (extra charge for the view room, but worth it.) Large variety of food for breakfast, including rhubarb compote! There was a juicer machine for fresh orange juice. It was an easy walk to the downtown shopping area and the castle. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will hopefully get a chance to visit here again, and will stay in the Marina Hotel.

Room Tip: Upgrade to a view room on the west side.

Everything what is needed for comfort is in the room- coffee, iron, lots of hangers for cloths, good curtains, protecting your dreams from white nights, comfortable bed. There was a bit of effort to connect to wifi, but finally it started to work. Very good breakfast, with omelette and pancakes! I really enjoyed my three nights in the hotel

Room Tip: Ask for sea view!

This is a very good hotel for many reasons, and I would happily recommend it. It's location right next to the ferry port and train station and centre of town is perfect.

Some parts of the hotel have clearly been refurbished recently, to a very high standard. We were upgraded, free of charge on arrival, to a suite because our room was not yet ready. The carpet and furnishings were clearly very new, and the walls were spotless. It was a double aspect room which provided wonderful views of the port, sea and parts of the town. The Nespresso machine in the room was a welcome addition, as was the reliable free wifi throughout the hotel.

Breakfast was typically Scandinavian continental, which was pleasant. We did not try the hotel for any other meal simply because of all the excellent choices nearby.

The only downside to this hotel is that it can be noisy when the cars and lorries disembark the ferry next door.

I don't give this hotel a 5* rating simply because it lacked some of the classy service elements that you get with the best hotels in the world. However I would happily stay here again.

Right next to the central train station and ferry port, a good and central location, without being noisy. The rooms are clean. I had a room to the inner court, means I couldn't open a window. Thats a minus for me.
Breakfast was ok, typical swedish. Dinner is as everywhere in Sweden pricy, but the staff was really friendly.
The sauna was funny, because of its massiv window to the street - I saw people walking by and they saw me in the sauna.

Rooms were very nice, we went for the upgrade which was a seaview and it was well worth it. Only additional cost was €60.00 for three nights so €20.00 per night.
Bar food limited, nice but expensive.
Hotel drinks very expensive.
Free wifi with fast browsing.
Nice spa and swimming pool but expensive at circa €20.00 per day.
Public transport (Ferryboats once per hour) and Bus 53 (every 10 minutes or so) which made travel to and from city centre hassle free.
Overall would recommend and would consider staying here again but would look at other hotels in city centre also.

Room Tip: 1. Pick a room with a view, small upgrade fee but well worth it. 2. Get the 72 hour pass which is o...
