the service was great, the people friendly. it isn't in the center of town, but it+s not that far away. it was easy to find from the train station. the bar is not a classic bar, and i was unfortunate to stay in lund when there was a huge storm, so i was a bit bored. the light evening buffet was nice, all in all a nice small cosy hotel.

Do not let the name scare you away from this hotel. Stayed here for 3 nights in October and was pleasantly surprised. Had a nice single room on the 3 floor facing the garden. Room was big enough for 1 person and the bathroom nice and fresh. Nice and plentiful breakfast buffet. Coffee available all day and a small Dinner buffet is included in the price. Private free parking is available but is not enough when the hotel is full and you arrive late. All in all a nice experience and will stay there again.

This review is written a year late but things seem to have not changed very much and I hope a few points will be of use. The hotel became my first choice over the years for business. However whilst Lund itself is a lovely town it is also a good place from which to visit the Malmo festival, Copenhagen or the castle at Helsingor (via the Helsingborg ferry). The hotel is in a quiet residential area within about 15 minutes walk to the University. The rooms are clean, bright and functional although wardrobe space might be a trifle limited. If you intend to stay a week or so it is worth asking about an apartment. This gives one the option of self catering whilst still enjoying the services of the main hotel. In this case the cost of meals taken at the hotel will be an addition but they are very good value. Breakfasts were always enjoyable and the evening meal of soup, a hot main course and salad (served until 8pm) is more than adequate. One can enjoy this in the light and airy dining room or on the patio overlooking a small but pleasant garden. Coffee is available 24/7. I note the point about the television. Watching the Olympic closing ceremony in Sweden on Danish TV was interesting! The free wi fi is very useful, eg when checking in for ones return flight. Staff here have always been very pleasant and helpful making it much easier to find my way around. On this point, a number 3 bus runs from the station to the hotel. If you have just arrived by train keep your ticket and this should be acceptable on the bus to get you to the hotel. However it will not get you back again. If you arrive at the station before 6pm a good plan could be to buy a "jo-jo" card from the station ticket office, particularly if you are staying for a few days. This works a bit like an "Oyster" card. The minimum that you can put on it is (or was) K200, but you can then travel easily on the buses and it entitles you to a discount (usually about 20%) on train fares (eg your return ticket to the airport). Note however, that whilst the card can be "topped up" at any time, there must be enough value on it to cover the cost of the journey. That is to say one cannot use up what is left on the card and pay the balance in cash. Enjoy! I hope to return soon.

We have been staying here off and on over the years and find the staff very helpful and enjoy that it does not feel like a hotel. The breakfast and evening buffets are good and open long hours. We usually stay in a suite to have more room to do a major repack before flying home. There are English, Swedish, and German newspapers, a computer and printer available, free. And there is coffee also free during the day. There is also small workout room and a small laundry - bring your powder detergent. Parking is also free. There is a lovely garden area behind the hotel and a patio to eat or drink outside. It is in a quiet area of Lund. Only one complaint - there is no English TV in the rooms.

The Hotel Djingis Khan has basic rooms, minimally decorated. The service is wonderful, the rate included breakfast and an evening buffet which was different each evening. This hotel is difficult to get to once you depart the train. New to town one doesn't know which bus to take or in which direction, OR that one cannot purchase a ticket on the bus...the tourist information center (which sells bus tickets) is several blocks from the train station and is not clearly marked. We had to take a taxi and taxis in Sweden are very expensive.
