“Good for conference, Bad for relaxation”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2010

Just returned from a business trip held at this hotel. It has excellent conference facilities and free WiFi which was great and I would recommend hotel for a conference (very comfortable chairs in the lecture theatre) but I would not recommend for a relaxing holiday stay mainly because I didn't get a good nights sleep in 5 days as the beds were so uncomfortable. Sounds silly but with long days at the conference and organised trips I really needed to get plently of sleep and came back exhausted from my stay. The pillows are wafer thin and are feather, so there was no support for your neck/head no matter how many you used. I recommend using the cushions from the sofa it helps a little. The beds themselves were extremely soft giving no support for the back and very small even for a single plus without air conditioning the rooms were extremely stuffy and warm but opening the window only made the noise coming from the foyer worse. Depending where your room is in the hotel noise will carry from the foyer/bar area especially if you are staying in one of the rooms which overlooks this area. Even on the second floor we decided after the first night that there was no point going to bed before the bar or disco finished. Good points about the room were the showers in the bathroom were fantastic very good water pressure, great for washing long hair and the bath was very nice. The breakfast provided with the conference package was by far the best meal of the day for me and there was lots of choice, with a variety of tea's, juice, cakes and pastries, cooked, fruit, cold meats and cheeses, pancakes and breads and special areas such as one devoted to allergy free food stuffs. Lunch and dinner although nice on the first day or two really didn't change much over the rest of the conference- always a meat option and then one or two fish dishes and the same type of salad options every day. If you don't eat/like fish, go for the veggie option as these looked very nice and avoided the onslaught of fish at every meal plus they were brought to you so no fighting in the buffet queues. Do try the swedish meatballs and the desserts as these were very nice. The themed nights in the restaurant were definitely the best. The tea breaks for the conference provided very good cakes. As mentioned on many reviews the decor is dated in this hotel but I liked it- very kitsch. Also just to mention here that the reception staff are very helpful and friendly. Lastly, the hotel is situated away from Lund centre. There is a bus service going twice an hour but be warned that on saturdays the bus service stops early so after 5pm you must walk or get a taxi into town. Do visit Lund it is very nice and there are lots of bars and cafes although in the summer is very quiet.

Very big and clean room, even though it was single. Bathroom was ok. Check-in/check-out straightforward. Personnel friendly and competent.

The breakfast had small variety, but was still ok.

Scandic has one advantage, the accept dogs (and cats). This is of course only an advantage if you do have a pet; otherwise it is hard to understand why you should stay here. Well maybe breakfast witch was good to content but tables cleaning were a total mess. Scandic also offers free internet on all their hotels, that is good.

We liked:
- That we could bring our dog
- Free internet

We did not like:
- Cleaning, it appears like they only do the beds
- Dated and dirty rooms
- Chaos at breakfast
- Location

The room was very large but in urgent need of refurbishment and it wasn't cleaned properly. I don't expect to find dirt and old garbage in the bathroom of a 4 star hotel. Although the staff is very friendly and serviceminded. It feels like children are very welcome at the hotel so I would recommend this hotel to other families travelling with young children.

I think the correct title for this hotel should be a prison hotel. I have never been to prison in my life, yet I feel now that I have been to one. Im not exaggerating but the room really really feels like a jail cell. I have posted some pics to prove it. I cannot stress enough that YOU SHOULD NOT stay in this hotel , no matter what !! Its a very very veryyyy outdated hotel, the furniture is defenitly from the 80s which is why it looks so bad. and their are pipes going over the walls. Unless you have absolutely no other choice, then try to avoid this hotel AT ALL COSTS. Not to mention that the location is terrible, not a single resturant is near by. I had to take a cab that had to drive me for 2Km to get to a McDonalds (Yea thats the nearest) and the cab fare cost me 220 SEK (Return). So yea thats one hell of an expensive meal I had.

The hotel is situated in the outskirts of Lund. The conference service is quite good with an excellent coffee and cake buffet (if ordered I guess).

The rooms I've encountered is actually two rooms with a small work/TV-rooms and a bedroom. The bathroom has both a separate shower and a bathtub.

The rooms are clean enough and the hotel personnel seems to be quite professional.

The hotel has their own restaurant and bar.

Internet account is included in the price.

This hotel is situated rather far from the city center of Lund. The surrounding area being some kind of industrial area.
There is a large atrium in the middle of the building and that is quite nice. There are several conference rooms and a nice restaurant where the breakfast buffet is served. The buffet is large and fresh. The rooms however are terrible. Dirty curtains, dirt all over the shower. The furniture are dated and the whole room looks more like a prison cell than a hotel room.
No this hotel cannot be recommended.
