I knew it would be good, but what I didn't expect is that it's located in a really exciting revamped former industrial area. The beach is only a few minutes away, so are several restaurants, parks and the famous Turning Torso. While it's not too close to the city center (if you want to go there every night, you should consider staying elsewhere), bus 3 brings you there in a few minutes.

The hotel itself is impeccably clean and neat, the breakfast menu is really great with local and international foodstuff. Considering that I managed to reserve it on a special fare (SEK 565/night for a double room), it was among the best price/quality ratio hotel experiences I've seen recently. Highly recommended.

First some facts: This hotel is in a developing area with lots of construction (none of which was any disturbance) - just note that it is not in the downtown core. We walked to the train station in about 15 minutes via a very simple route. The magnificent Turning Torso is one block away, as are several restaurants and a lovely waterfront park. Parking is 120 SEK for 24 hours, or 20 SEK/hour for the first six hours and then you have reached the maximum. There is no free parking nearby. The underground garage is on one level with surprisingly few spots - on our last day there was just one spot left and we could barely fit our car into it. There is a huge "supermax" grocery store and liquor store across the street.

Our room was utilitarian, but spotlessly clean and big enough. The bathroom is very large, which comes in handy since it is a classic Scandinavian "wet room" and by being large, water doesn't get on everything when you shower. The bed was comfortable. There is "climate control" but not AC as we from North America understand it. The air recirculates somehow but doesn't really chill. Our time in Malmo was quite warm at around 27C and the room was a bit stuffy. The windows do not open.

Breakfast is included for all guests and is one of the best I have seen for a hotel like this. All the classic breakfast foods plus excellent bread, cheeses, sliced meats, Swedish pancakes, herring, etc. It was amazing. There is a restaurant on-site for lunch/dinner but we did not try it.

For the price we paid in generally expensive Scandinavia, this hotel was great value and I recommend it if the parameters I described fit with your travel plans and expectations.

The rooms are spacious, bed comfortable. There isn't a lot of space to store clothes, but it wasn't an issue for me as I was on my own and staying only 2 nights.
The bathroom is big enough, more like a 'wet room' with a fixable screen for the shower. No toiletries, other than the fixed soap dispenser on the sink and in the shower. No hair dryer.
However, there is a kettle.
The guys in reception were very good from the start, really helpful, even answering questions by email before my stay. The hotel has a few bikes for rent (75 SEK per day rental fee - first come first served, can't book in advance). Biking is a good way of getting around Malmo.
I flew into Copenhagen airport & took the train over the bridge. It is a very easy way of reaching Malmo, and really cool too to be on the bridge between Denmark and Sweden. You get the tickets at the red machines behind the lifts, where the train info/booking office is. Just follow the train signs when you come out of customs. Train is 105 SEK and takes about 30 min. From Malmo Central (take the escalator up and head for Burger King) you can take the number 3 bus from point D outside (point D will be on your right as you come out of the station) to Malmo Propellergatan - takes about 6 min, and the stops are announced on the bus (you'll see a Maxi store - red sign). The hotel is across the street.
Food is really good.

Returning to the Malmö ParkInn after some time I reflect that despite the ParkInn should be “value” type of chain this particular sticks out as something more. Only a couple of years old it is still has a modern feel and is well kept. The reception double as a decent bar and the restaurant serves a superb breakfast with a wide assortment of cold and hot dishes. The rooms are reasonably spacy with a decent desk to work from. Location in the west harbor is very nice and the surrounding quays and parks invite to a nice run or walk along the sea side. Also there are some interesting restaurants and cafés in this modern area. Last but not least, staff is very friendly and service minded - the managed to fix me a sandwich and tea for my early morning departure before the restaurant starting serving breakfast.
So what is missing? Well no cozy bar, the gym room is very small and the location does not offer a scenic view (unless you of course like to have a view over the local hypermarket…)

Room Tip: Stay on the top floors, but do not expect scenic views

New hotel with a modern feel. Rooms fine and clean, comfy beds and linnen. No bath tub. I really like the fact you can actually open a window to let some air in (in all too many of the new hotels you have to rely solely on mechanical ventilation)!
There is a lot of building work going on in the area, and if you are sensitive to sounds you might want to let reception know before they allocate a room for you. If you want to feel a bustling city vibe, you should chose a hotel in the central Malmö, this hotel is located a bit on the outskirts.

I just recently stayed at this hotel ( 12 june - 17 june, 2014) and it was awesome.
It's located by the seaside, in a pleasant neighborhood.
The staff was very helpful and informative, warm and friendly.
The rooms are nice and clean, but kind of small.
The surroundings was simply marvelous.
I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet, they had lots of choices.

Pros: location; neighborhood; staff; you have an iron and ironing board in the room; breakfast;
vis-a-vis the hotel was a supermarket, Maxi supermarket.
Cons: you don't have a fridge in the room, big minus; no slippers; no cotton swabs in the bathroom.

We stayed at the Park Inn last year with very good impressions and we were not disappointed when returning this year. The hotel is in good condition, the room was excellent and the staff is still warm and friendly, making you feel at home already at arrival.

We got a room with lovely views and we slept really well in comfortable beds, it was quiet and calm and in the morning, breakfast was plentiful and fresh.

We travelled by car and it was very convenient to arrive and depart without the need to go through the city center.

I can warmly recommend the hotel for business or leisure, but be advised that the hotel is not located i the city center.
