we stayed two nights in this hotel and it was clean, centrally located, the staff were friendly and the evening buffet was an unexpected bonus as they dont tell you about this when you book.
we had a roon in the old part with wet room ,nice linen and anex with two chirs and TV. It was very hot during the day and there was no air con. but it does cool down at night.
Try the boat trips from outside the station they were good and reasonably priced, the hotel is aprox. 15 mins walk from the landmark turning torso building.
However the alcoholic drinks are very expensive but the calm civilised atmosphere in the atrum bar eases the pain of the cost.
overall exelent for short breaks.

Have just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel. The hotel is a gem, just off the main streets but really easy to find and close to the main shopping streets.
The room we had was in the new part of the hotel. It was light and airy with a wet room.
The buffet breakfast on offer is 'organic' and although a little limited in variety there was still plenty of choice. Tea, coffee and cake was on offer in the afternoons which was a welcome break from the shops. The bonus with this hotel is the evening buffet, which was also limited with just one hot dish on offer. The selection of cold meats and salads did however make up for this. Our only complaint was the slowness of the staff when we asked for different pillows (had to ask twice and then wait in reception while they found some).
Overall though an excellent hotel

My son and I stayed at the Clarion Hotel, Malmo for 5 nights. On arrival we were welcomed and checked in efficiently and made our way to our rooms. Later my son told me he was not too keen on his room and wanted to change it to one like mine (in the new part of the hotel), so we went down to reception to see if we could get it changed. The receptionist was very helpful and looked to see if she could find a spare room, eventually she did and my son was much happier about his new room.

The rooms in the new part of the hotel are clean, bright and well furnished. We appreciated having a minibar that is just a fridge to put your own things in, so many hotels now have minibars that charge you if you just move one of their over-priced items. The bathrooms (wetrooms) are well designed, so much so that I now want one at home!

Breakfast was plentiful and had lots of choices, my only gripe was that they used to serve croissants and Danish pastries and now they don't, possible because they now serve a completely organic breakfast. But there is lots of choice of breads, cereals, yogurts, milks, hot and cold drinks, hot and cold meats and cold fish, plus salads and fruit.

They now serve complimentary coffee and pastries in the afternoons, but we didn't try this.

They also have a free buffet in the evening, which we tried 3 times. They have one main hot dish, plus salads, cold meats and cheese plus fruit. The only thing that has to be paid for is the drinks, which are added to your bill. The buffet helps to make an expensive country a bit more affordable, and on one occasion we had decided to eat at an Italian restaurant only to be told when we sat down at 8 pm that were not serving any more as they had run out of food, so it was back to the hotel for the buffet again!

This is about the fifth time I've stayed at the Clarion in Malmo, and I would recommend it to anyone. It is central, within easy walking distance of the station and the staff and facilities are excellent.

Stayed one night in room 316. Very clean and nice room with a window facing the the court yard. The breakfast and evening buffé (included in the room price) was excellent.

I booked through their website and paid 761 swedish crowns (about $100) for one night.

We stayed at this hotel for one night in August 07.

The hotel is in a good location on one of the main central roads in Malmo near to the old square. It is situated in a tall old brick building that I imagine once was something else in a previous life. My overall impression on entering the hotel was that it was very dark, and some of the communal areas, stairwells and lift, seemed to have an almost institutional feel - like a school or hospital.

Check in was smooth, although the reception was littered with laundry bags. This is a pet hate of mine, it's a health and safety hazard, and creates a terrible first impression. The staff were friendly though, and also invited us to have a complementary evening meal ( think they were doing a buffet in the dining room as they had a coach party in.)

The hotel is part of the Clarion collection of hotels and appeared to have been refurbished in some parts. The main bar/ lounge area is attractive and has a glass atrium ceiling. Decor in this room and an alternative salon was in an African style with some Zebra stripes and rugs and bright colours. It was a nice contrast to the darker areas of the hotel.

Our room was spacious, but again rather dark, because it looked out onto the atrium rather than having a window onto the main road. There was a separate seating area and comfortable twin beds, the bed linen was clean and of reasonable quality. The bathroom was ok, not particularly new but clean. Wooden toilet seat which is not to everyone's taste if you are a hygiene freak.

Breakfast was a free for all in the dining room. There is very limited waitress service and it was literally a case of help yourself. The fare on offer wasn't particularly appetising, cold meat, cheese s etc with a limited hot menu. I would go as far as to say breakfast was disappointing.

Overall, it was a reasonable hotel taking into account the size of the room, the location and the amount we paid. It didn't set my world on fire, but for a tourist class hotel for the one night we needed it it was perfectly adequate.

This hotel is located in the heart of the old city of malmo- close to the railway and bus station and to all other places of interest - it is partly and old building but has a modern addition to it.
The price was affordable and the hotel and its staff was in my opinion way beyond expectation- there was free evening buffee' coffee and cake 24 hours in bar, free accessible internet, friendly staff, clean rooms, and at my request i received early breakfast ( 5:20 am!! and also late buffee ( midnite ) since my trains left and arrived not on regular hours/ i will certainly return to this hotel on my next visit

My spouse stayed here for a month in December and I joined for about a week. Once we changed to a bit larger room everything was great. Their single rooms are tiny but otherwise it is a great place to stay. It is in the old town part of Malmo which is a neat little city. The old town is a large pedestrian area that goes form very old to more modern. It is well over a mile long which shops and dinning for every taste. We were there at Christmas time and there were many activities--lots of fun!
The hotel is renovated and very clean, comfortable typical Swedish bedding. They offer breakfast which was fantastic--you can also get dinner for a very good price. Nice little bar area--sort of an atrium with free coffee/tea. Grocery store across the street, refrigerator in room. Easy walk to shops, eating, movies, etc.
This is really one of the nicer hotels in Malmo and the staff is excellent. friendly and helpful, plus like almost everyone in Sweden, they speak wonderful English. Neat old train station in Malmo and some great history. If your an American homesick for a little USA food check out the cafe Mondo, in old town--great steaks and fun atmosphere.
