Very nice and serviceminded staff. Good breakfast buffé. Im still a little suprised that its ranked at no 1 in Trip Advisor. But its worth the money. Central location in the oldtown. 10 min from the railwaystation by walking.

The hotel is centrally located (as central as you can be in a city as small as Malmö) a stones throw away from the train station (which is only about 20 minutes away from Copenhagen Airport in Copenhagen) and in the opposite direction Lilla Torg with its many restaurants.

The rooms are very clean and the design is a sort of mix between modern and romantic. The staff is helpful enough, and the breakfast buffet is good.

I have stayed here a number of times, and whenever I go to Malmö on business, I try and stay at this hotel.

We booked into the HMJ for two nights, before the Eurovision Song Contest but couldn't afford to stay there in the week of the ESC as the prices jacked up astronomically.

This is one of the more comfortable hotels I have stayed in. It is an easy walk with cases from the train station and is on the doorstep of the restaurant locale of Malmo.

The covered-in central courtyards provide a pleasant atmosphere and once you get through your room's double door you are well removed from the world outside. Our suite had a lounge setting and a writing desk. THe internet was free, fast and reliable. There were complimentary bottles of drinking water in a desktop chiller, replaced daily.

The bathroom was well appointed and robes were supplied. I used the gym equipment in the basement but didn't get to try the saunas.

Breakfast in the covered courtyard dining rooms was worthwhile. The range of foods was good and the country kitchen style servery was attractive. Hot food was replenished regularly.

The staff were attentive and friendly and the whole stay was just too short but it seems usual for prices to rise in Eurovision host cities during the actual week.

Room Tip: Superior room is very comfortable

It's a bit hard to find with a car, located in the old and charming parts of Malmö. But once there you're in a oasis with excellent service and high standards.
Really nice breakfast with an open kitchen, atrium and outside inner yard.
Only drawbacks are in the rooms, outdated thick and small Bang & Olufsen tv's and cirtains which doesn't black out the room properly, so bring your sleeping mask if you're sensitive. Highly recommended.

We stayed here two nights during the great Eurovision Song Contest. Hotel professionally managed, with some unexpected touches, like bikes in the lobby. Everything perfect, with one unique plus: candlelight over the bath tub!

Getting to the hotel was a little tricky, the access road being reworked right now. Signs to the hotel were not setup correctly all the way, so we had to turn 2 laps. While the website recommends to park right outside, parking space is really limited.
Location is fantastic, 30 meters from Lilla Torg.
We got a night there for no more than a standard chain hotel far from the center, great value.
The room was great, lots of space, great wooden floor, huge bed, great pillows, WiFi worked flawlessly. Great bathroom.
My only possible complaint is the insufficient noise insulation of the windows towards Stora Torg (room 203), I felt a little too much in the night club until it closed at 3AM. No noise from inside the hotel thanks to the double door, nor from the street really, just the bass thumping from across the street.

Room Tip: Avoid rooms towards Lilla Torg or Stora Torg, you can hear the night-clubs' music in the room.
