“A lovely experience”
Reviewed 28 June 2011

This is a superior hotel and I can find nothing to fault it. Our room was very spacious, immaculate and well laid out. The bed was very comfortable (nb the norm in northern europe seems to be two single duvets with a double/kingsize bed) and the shower great. There was a mini-bar (which was not too expensive considering this was Sweden and alcohol generally costs a fortune) and good room service. The staff all spoke English and were helpful and polite and the breakfast buffet was generous and delicious. We had a lovely weekend in Malmo and would heartily recommend this hotel. The only thing that I cannot comment upon is value for money. We bought two nights at this hotel on ebay for a very good price but I am not sure what the cost would be if you booked direct.

If a hotel can have a soul, then, this hotel has got one. We enjoyed friendly people, waking up to birds singing, nice and generous breakfast. The only issue for me was that the quality of the coffee served in the café and in the breakfast did not match the quality of the rest of the hotel. I am sure the management will be considering to serve something better than instant coffee in the future. What I liked particularly was the integration of the old building (anno 1620) to the hotel complex, together with the green areas on the roof. Will definitely stay again.

I have been in Malmö several times due to business reasons. Believe me, this is the best hotel in the town! The hotel is, seen from outside, perhaps not the nicest. But all indoor-places are nice and clean and the rooms, at least thoose who have been renovated, are very comfortable with outstanding beds.

The hotel is situated close to the railway station (about 10 minutes to walk) from where you can take a train (every 20 minutes) to Copenhagen Airport Kastrup. The journey takes only 19 minutes and then you will travel over the nice bridge between Sweden and Denmark.

The hotel has conference-facilities with an excellent service for thoose who are interested in to have conference in the town. For breakfast (and lunch) there is a well-tasting buffet with a large variation.

As all Radisson Blu-hotels, there is free wireless Internet access from all the rooms. So this hotel is really to recommend. But one disadvantage: The price for a room is very high. So look for special rates if you can find any.

Stayed here for five nights in business class rooms on the 6th floor which had been newly renovated. These rooms were very clean and spacious as were the bathrooms. Free wi fi which was very fast. Check in was efficiently handled by the helpful front desk staff. The breakfast buffet was very good with plenty of choice.
Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the entire length of our stay. We were able to eat in the bar area but the menu choice was extremely limited (as we were the only diners, other guests had obviously felt the same about the menu) and so we had to go out at night in search of other places to eat. I didn't mind so much but it was very cold weather. The hotel was also in some sort of transition period with its TV cable provider and there were no movie channels available.
While this is probably a good hotel for business travellers, next time I would stay around the Lilla Torg area.

We stayed here for 4 nights visiting the beautiful Skane region. I was impressed by some aspects of the hotel but probably wouldn't return to this hotel. Firstly what was good about the hotel....

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Malmo station and situated in a quiet road in the centre of Malmo. Easy walk to Lilletorg, restaurants and shops. Good impression from the reception as this is modern, clean and has a nice coffee machine. We checked in quickly with friendly, helpful staff.

I really enjoyed the breakfast buffet which was very popular with a huge range of lovely fresh food. Definitely something for everyone and served in a glass-roofed room with plenty of space. Staff were very efficient at clearing away plates and stocking up breakfast dishes.

We also loved the free bike hire which we made good use of - when we could! This was very popular and we couldn't get the bikes for every day we would have liked them. An excellent way to get around Malmo and staff took the time to show us how to operate the locks and lights etc. Definitely a bonus to staying here!

Unfortunately our room was not up to scratch. Whilst large, we found the room quite tired with scuffed wallpaper, stained carpets and furtniture. The bathroom was mouldy with mildew in the tiles and needed an update in my opinion. Good shower pressure but didn't stay in the shower very long as was a bit scared of the mould. Strange pictures from the 1970s added to the grubby tiles was quite unusual in stylish Sweden. Not good.

We also found the sofa to have a life of its own - I got bitten several times! Our bed had strange stains on the covers from previous occupants - they really needed cleaning ASAP. Our room was very warm considering it had air conditioning, unfortunately it was around a wall corner so did not reach the rest of the room. Compared to other Radisson Blu hotels I was pretty disappointed and will not be returning.

I have just returned from this hotel; I had business at the hospital - the Radisson has bikes out front! - lock, lights, the whole thing; a superb way to commute around Malmo, and no charge either. I was particularly impressed by personal help from the managing director, who just happened to stop by early on a Saturday morning, and provided me directions for my (bicycle) commute. As others say, the rooms are very big and, unlike the lobby, updated. On principle I don't give hotels without swimming pools 5 stars, but otherwise, I'd definitely stay there again. (Hint: when getting off the train from Copenhagen airport, cross the canal where you get off rather than walking to the station building).
