A really nice hotel in the very center.
We had a std room, it was very cozy and nice, not like these boring and modern hotel chains... This hotel has a soul...
The staff where very friendly and professional, they know what they are doing. Breakfast included all you need.

Conclusion; Good hotel with descent prices. We would come back!!

Very nice looking hotel with a loads of history, loved the stories on the walls. Everything you need in Malmö is just around the corner. But we had room 101, witch is in the courtyard. it ´s otherwise newly renovated, so it looks clean and new (a bit dark), but don´t go there on summer. It has no A/C and since there is no air coming from the outside, it is not possible to sleep in 30 degrees. Even tho the bed was very good, good pillows and so on. Just stayed for one night but if we should go again (it´s charming enough to give a second chance), we definitely ask for some upstairs room.

Stayed here for just one night. A nice hotel with an interesting history. Staff pleasant enough, if not particularly friendly.

The bedroom and bathroom were clean, but a little dated decor wise, but I suppose that is to be expected given the age of the hotel. Probably the only hotel that I have stayed in with the history of a piece of furniture in a frame on the bedroom wall, strange, but interesting. The room was a bit small (which probably explains why they were trying to sell me an upgrade to a larger room on arrival), but it was fine for one night.

Breakfast was not the best but reasonably extensive, definitely more Scandinavian than most chain run hotels, (i.e. limited amount of cooked option).

In truth it probably doesn't deserve a full 5 rating (More like 4 1/2), but it was in a very good location, convenient for both the station and town, and not part of a big hotel chain, and any hotel which has a suit of armour in reception and a separate room just for tea and coffee which also had nice biscuits just about edges it for me.

Wonderful! This historic building is full of wonder around every corner in the heart of Malmo. The staff were friendly and helpful, even to the point of rushing me out to park my car with a pass before completing check-in so that I wouldn't get a ticket (alas not quickly enough as I did receive a citation). But so worth it to stay here.

Our room was up several stair cases, then down, and around, up again, winding like a labyrinth, all the time with plenty to read and see on the walls. NOTE: there is no bell service and the elevator may not be of any use depending where your room is located, so this is not for those who cannot carry their own bags up stairs. It was well appointed, clean, and well-maintained.

We loved our stay and the fabulous Scandinavian breakfast in the 800 year old dining room. What a treat and such a memorable stay. We would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: IF you have trouble carrying your own bags, ask for a room near the only elevator.

Very helpful friendly staff and gracious setting. Our room was fresh, spacious and comfortable. A little hot on a summer's night, but there was a good fan provided. There is a little courtyard and nice salon to relax in. The breakfast room is a treat - a 700 year old cellar, and breakfast was generous and delicious. An interesting and easy place to stay

Room Tip: rooms on the inside courtyard are quiet

Spent 4 nights at this lovely old hotel in the centre of Malmo, a short walk from the station and to local eating places. Staff very friendly and helpful, room was spacious, bed was comfortable and bathroom was big enough. Very quiet at night. There is a lot of history associated with the building and it was fascinating to read all about it along the corridors and stairways. Free tea and coffee in the delightful lounge area and breakfast was plentiful and good, served down in the cavern area. If you want a hotel with charm and character this is the one.

Room Tip: ask for a quiet room away from the street but I don't think the streetside would have been too n...

In my view, this is one of the best hotels in Europe, not just in Malmo, or in Sweden!

It is located in a centuries old building, just a 5-minute walk from the central station. The cellar (where you can have steak and tapas at night, and then have breakfast the following morning) goes back hundreds of years, and each table at breakfast has a page with the story of the hotel printed on it, so that you can catch up on your history while you munch! Breakfast, by the way, is really good, with the all usual cereals, fruits, hot buffet choices, cold buffet choices, eggs, fish - in fact everything you'd want to start your day!.

Unlike lots of modern hotels with 'cloned rooms', the bedrooms in the Mayfair range in size and are spread over several floors, and many of them have beams running through them. All, however, are well equipped with nice beds (if a bit too 'soft' and comfy sometimes, hard to get out of bed in the mornings!), good 'roomy' showers, tv and wifi with a good signal) everywhere..

Lovely though all the above is, for me the best thing about the hotel is the staff - you feel at home from the very minute you enter the hotel, and if, like me, you are lucky enough to come back a few times, you are greeted with a warmth and friendliness that you don't get everywhere! And that applies to ALL staff I've come across, from management down to the newest recruit!

All in all, a great choice of hotel!

Dear guest

I usually do not write a management answer to the positive reviews we get. But in this case I felt compelled to do just that.
I can’t explain just how much it means for us/me your kind words, being one of the last privately owned and operated hotels in Malmö, positive feed back and word of mouth is worth so much more than any add campaign can accomplish.

I will make sure that all my staff will get the praise they deserve.

Once again thank you for time, we hope to see you in the near future.

Sincerely

U. Storm
