The Turning Torso is impressive to see, especially in good weather (we have been there when it is foggy, and you can't see the top!); however, you can't access it, as it is mostly residential apartments. It would definitely be worth making a specific visit if there was a viewpoint, but as it stands, it is good to look at (even from a distance), but isn't particularly worth the time taken to go right up to it (unless you happen to be walking nearby).

I was not as impressed with the building as i thought i would be before i visited it. The area is undergoing transition after long crisis in 1980-1990s.

The Malmö building called "The Turning Torso" is one more of the architectural landmarks of Santiago Calatrava, despite its reported failure as a commercial venture. It is located somewhat far from to city center, but, since it is very large, it is possible to appreciate it from central vantage points, such as the Malmoe castle park.

If I consider the Turning Torso as a piece of architecture, it is marvellous and well worth seeing.
If I think of it as a tourist attraction, it doesn't have much to offer. Do I go there? Yes. Often: No.
It is a residential building which doesn't give tourists access. There is neither an observation platform nor a restaurant on the top floor. (What a pity.)
See it from close, and you will crick your neck; see it from a distance (i.e. anywhere in Malmö) and it looks exciting. Does it turn? No. Is it twisted? Yes, the façade is, absolutely.
Does it have anything else to offer? Well, nearby is a skatepark, a "green" food market, and the ocean front with a few cafes.

The building welcomes you across the bridge into Malmo. It is a stunning piece of architecture, Some nice cafes and restaurants nearby on the sea front. Sadly the building is mostly residential and there is no observation deck.
