Whether it's because of the location in tourist hot-spot Djurgården, that it is owned and run by a large hotel chain (Scandic), or that it is sharing its taxi stand with one of the most coach travel intense theatres we have in Stockholm (Cirkus) I don’t know – but for any or all of these reasons Hasselbacken restaurant is best avoided.

In fact, it feels more like a ferry buffet cantina than a dining place. Most of the staff seems to be work training (one even told me so). Simple questions were answered rudely and despite the vast amount of empty tables, there was more attention paid on paying the tables for the next morning hotrel breakfast than on the few guests present. The food is best described as “poured from a jar or a can” - I wouldn’t dream of returning.

We tried the Sunday brunch. It was tastefull and varied. The kitchen is "traditional Swedish" adapted to the modern age. Alltogether a relaxed and pleasant experience.

Very disappointed after dinner with our family at Hasselbacken. A la carte menu was completely substituted with worst class tourist kitchen. Five waiters did not manage to wait on eight tables.. We had to walk over and remind them that we needed more drinks. Horrible experience overall.

Pick another restaurant if you want a pleasant experience.

Went here to celebrate our wedding anneversary with a Sunday brunch. The venue is very cosy, romantic and if you get a privat booth its brilliant. The food however, is so poor that we actually discussed it with several friends. The classic brunch should, in our opinion, always contain eggs and bacon. No bacon (or similarities to hotel breakfast) to be found. But they served Cod, with ketchup as a side dish. There was probably too few staff to fill the plates so the food did not look inviting as the plates only contained left overs. There was a "Sweet room" with desserts, but after the start of the buffé it looked like someone had thrown a hand granate into the room. Also, nothing was included to drink besides water and black coffe.
The service at the table was excellent, for us but the couple at the table beside us through rough comments to the waitress.

We had made table reservation weeks ago. Restaurant had few bigger groups (family reunions) no much other customers still they tried to give us the worst table - next to the entrance. We managed finally get a nice table next to window - beautiful restaurant.

I guess we got the only smiling waitress there was, she was busy... so no service.

We took the special menu, starter was "toast skagen" (schrimps on toast) it was tasty but it looked sloppy, no time or effort done.

Buffet for main menu. Lots of the bowls were empty and no one seemed to care,

Hasselbacken potatoes were good! That was all!

I do not recommend. Over priced, no happy people.

Restaurant manager: DO SOMETHING!
