“Great location, very adequate facilities”
Reviewed 15 May 2011

**Very very conveniently located in the Old Town on the water, a short walk from hip Sodermalm in one direction, and Normalm in the other.

**We had a souterrain double room, with showers down the hall. The toilets were a little trek upstairs, but not bad if you're used to hostels. Lovely little dining area with tables for eating your dinners you've cooked in the large and well-equipped kitchen adjacent. We ate out for lunch and cooked in for dinner, saving quite a bit $$ this way. There was free pasta/rice, and other food that previous guests had left behind. Also a shared refrigerator was available.

**Friendly and helpful staff who are only available a few hours a day, but willing to help you print out tickets or suggest places to see.

**Computer with internet available for use, as well as WIFI

**Guests ranged from middle-aged ladies to backpackers in their twenties to secondary school groups -- the first floor is not isolated very well from the second, and we had the pleasure of hearing all the noise late in the night from a bunch of rowdy teenagers, but again this is a hostel, so we took it all with a grain of salt.

**Overal, we would consider coming here again

I would recommend to anyone, it is in an excellent location and the price is just right ( we stayed in a mixed form for 8 people) most of the nights we were on our own in the room which was cool too. Only drawback is the lack of toilet facilities and showers, but if you only need to use these facilities in the morning and evening and spend the rest of the day and night out, it is not really a drawback.

I imagine if you are staying here as a backpacker in the dorms, you would be just fine. The atmosphere seems pleasant enough, and the location is excellent.

However, do NOT, under any circumstances, book a private room at this place. I originally booked 4 nights, from last night, but only stayed one. The room was all of about 3 square metres, barely enough for me and my luggage. Not only that, the bathroom was 2 floors away, having to pass through reception to get there, making it almost completely impractical to go for a shower. I was so dumbfounded at all of this, the smallest room I have ever stayed in anywhere in the world, that I told them I couldn't bear it and had to leave immediately. Admittedly, they were very understanding and reasonable about it, but still charged me 2 nights instead of 1.

Once again, stay here in the dorms if you like, but avoid the private rooms like the plague!

A large group of us stayed together in an 8 person dorm. the facilities are both what you would expect from a youth hostel - not much actual space, functional and clean. And a little more - kitchen that you can actually cook in, communal area with free internet.

The location is great for exploring old town and not too far to walk from the new town and student bar area.
