For our family's one-night layover in Stockholm I decided to indulge in a night in the cockpit suite. On the positive side is the fabulous novelty and relative spaciousness of this suite, which includes the cockpit itself (outfitted with a queen size mattress from wall to wall), a very nicely appointed private bathroom with shower, the first-class lounge, and a private outdoor terrace with views of the airport. It's also super convenient to the city -- you can just hop a shuttle to the terminal for the high speed train into Stockholm which takes you into town in 20 minutes.

On the down-side is the feeling that you're sleeping in .. well, an old plane. When in bed, there are broken wires hanging down from the cockpit ceiling just above your head and the foam mattress, though serviceable for a night, has breaks in the center through which you can feel some kind of hardware.

The first-class lounge could really be better furnished. Rather than set up as a living room area, it is lined on either side with old, broken looking, decommissioned airplane seats. My daughter actually opted to sleep in one of those rather than the roll-out cot the hostel supplied. And though the suite is equipped with a space heater, it was a bit cold and drafty.

All in all, I don't regret our stay. For a special overnight, this is a really neat location with a great WOW factor -- especially if you have a younger child, or in my case a husband, who loves machines and transportation.

I stayed here mainlynfor the experience and also as I was leaving early the next day.
The experience is neat - it can't be beat - u stay in a old jumbo 747 :)
It is conveniently connected to the terminals by frequent buses
Butit is worth only for 1 nnight. As it is pricey - everything in Sweden is
It does get quite claustrophobic aasthe rooms are quite small :)

Staff extremely friendly and helpful !!!! Staying in a 747 speaks for it self for all aviation fans . Stayed at the suite with own bathroom and view to runway . Bathroom was also airplane-style . Breakfast rather ok for a hostel :) place a bit far from the city as this IS an airport :)

Great place to stay whilst at the airport, a lot cheaper than the other airport hotels!

First stay was in a private room, lots of space, great view over the icy wing, wifi, and the most comfortable beds I have ever encountered in a hostel/hotel (or even on an aircraft!)

Second stay was in a dorm, yes there is not a lot of room, but thats not really too important for a quick airport stay.

Shoes off at the door of the aircraft which keeps the whole place clean, and its also nice and warm inside.

Breakfast is simple, but really nice. Yoghurt, bread and bakery items, juice, tea and coffee, biscuits.

Bathrooms are very clean and the showers are small but nice hot water.

As a flight attendant, I always recommend this hotel to fellow crew and passengers, its such a once off experience especially if you love the aviation industry!

When in Stockholm, I would recommending staying in the Jumbo Stay, which is a converted 747-200 and from what I hear, the only one like it in the world! The rooms vary in price, (the cheapest is the dorm room for men or women) then the two wheel-well rooms, (outside the plane) then the individual rooms, followed by the most expensive, cockpit room. They are building rooms in the four engines, (but there has been a delay in construction)>

The wheel-well room has a toilet but no shower, (and you have to walk into the plane to shower). The dorms and individual rooms in the fuselage do not bathrooms, (they are at either end of the hall). Only the cockpit has a private shower and toilet. The rooms are not big, but remember you are on a (former) plane and they were limited to the existing structure. Also, the common bathrooms are repeatedly cleaned.

The free breakfast, (which is open from 0300 am to 10 am) is quite good. They also serve lunch and dinner, (average price around $10) and beer, (around $8-9 a bottle).

The staff is quite friendly and willing to answer any questions. They actually make the stay even better.

It is extremely easy to find the hotel, (it is on the edge of the airport). Look for (the free) 14 bus, (which stops at every terminal every 15-minutes). It stops directly in front the airplane.

Room Tip: The cockpit room is extremely expensive, but for a group splitting costs, it would not be that bad...

We stayed for one night. It was fun to say in a plane, many things are conserved. however, the regular rooms are very small, not enough place for 2 people and 2 pieces of luggage. It requires organization.

Quiet place, easy check in/out, fast and frequent shuttles (free ofc), nice staff. Sheets included. They are also a member of hostelling international (though the booking has to be via their home page or at the reception disk in order to get the discount).

Cons:
DIdn't find any locker room for the luggage
