Description: If you're curious to know what's been served at the Nobel Prize banquets down the years, then you should head for Stadshuskllaren ? a restaurant in the basement of Stockholm town hall, which hosts the annual ceremony. You can choose between any of the Nobel menus since 1901. Stockholm's town hall, with the three golden crowns on its tower, has become a national and international symbol for Stockholm and Sweden. It contains the exquisite banqueting halls, Gyllene Salen (the Golden Hall) and Bl Hallen (the Blue Hall). Restaurang Stadshuskllaren has seating in its own fine dining room as well as the so-called Eldqvarn room. There's also the Sknkrummet room for guests who prefer quieter surroundings. As well as the Nobel menus and the Swedish inspired main menu, the restaurant also serves party menus, a traditional Swedish Christmas buffet and a spectacular seafood buffet in the autumn.

“Good food but poor service”
Reviewed 26 December 2013 via mobile

Very good food and splendid location. However the service personel had extremely poor attitude. Since we were there, we've heard from others who have experienced the same kind of lack of servicemindedness.

“Cool to experience once”
Reviewed 21 October 2013

A bit like the Nobel Prize - once is probably it. Very cool to experience; however, the service was not as good as one would have expected and the food was not on par with the price.
While the starter (soup) was great, the lamb entree was less than impressive. It tasted like liver as opposed to anything else and the sides were non-existant. Dessert was a total disappointment - a plum quartered on a plate. While the building is great and the significance enormous, the food is not the reason to go. Stop by the bar for a drink instead. Gave 4 stars for the decor and significance of location.

“$$$$$$$$$$$$$$”

It is expensive even in Stockholm! The food is Ok, but I don't think is worth of it! I would rather go to others restaurants in Old Town!

“Great Schnitzel and service at this City Hall restaurant!”
Reviewed 3 October 2013

We loved this place! Great service and food in the bottom of City Hall. The architecture and the ceiling are worth a look, just to see what took a year to get cleaned. Very romantic place to have lunch when City Hall MPs are not in session. We had bread, salad, and Vienna Schnitzel. Great place for lunch after you have been on the City Hall tour and climbed to the top of the City Hall tower.

“Tourist trap stay away at all costs”
Reviewed 9 June 2013

Awful dry food. Terrible rip off. Over $200/person for 2 courses and a gross dessert

The set Nobel menu is a joke, they did not prepare the year we asked for (1908) and instead gave our group the 2012 menu. To say it was a rip off is an understatement- it's a complete tourist trap. And even though we were the only people in the restaurant, service was still terrible.

Our tour group cox and king must have got some sort of kick back sending us here, otherwise I can't fathom why they would have booked us this restaurant. I also do not recommend them for touring purposes because of this and other questionable choices. Again, stay away from this gross wedding food restaurant and instead go to one of the many amazing gourmet choices in Stockholm for well lass than 250/person.
