First Hotel Kungsbron

I stayed here for a few nights, first on business and then over the weekend when my husband joined me, so I spent little time in the hotel. First, yes, the room is small - very small; 'shoe box' was what first sprung to mind when I first opened the door - and the bathroom tiny, and there's no window, but really, if you're staying here, you're only staying for a place to crash, a bed to rest your head.

It's fit for that purpose, but nothing more; having a really good location near Central Station, it's the cheap (for Stockholm) kind of place you want to stay if you're not going to be staying at the hotel for long or only needing a place to sleep. Wifi was a bit patchy though. And with no natural light, don't forget to set your alarm! Would stay again if the purposes were the same.

Very easy access from central station (with the Arlanda express a cheap and quick option from the airport). Near the water, and pretty low rates for Sweden. Hotel interior rooms are in the layout of a ship, and im not sure if this is intentional? No restaurant for the evening, but plenty of options within walking distance. Basic rooms, but functional with clean linens and towels. Good wifi, and very friendly front desk staff. Large TV with many channel choices. Breakfast buffet pretty good too.

Basic hotel, just next to the train station, yet no disturbing noises from the train, even though we stayed in rooms facing the tracks. The rooms without windows are cheaper, and really a window is not worth the extra cost - the view is just of the railway tracks. Nice and clean rooms, with beds, a desk and chair and a flatscreen TV (no closet) a fridge and a bathroom. No coffee or tea making facilities (tiny cups available for 10 kr in the reception area however). Friendly staff, decent breakfast with basic selections but freshly squeezed orange juice as a bonus. No organic options thouh. I´m a light sleeper, but never heard the neighbours. However the front door of the hotel was directly over one of our rooms (102) and even though they are sliding. doors it was rather disturbing at night. So if you´re a light sleeper, ask for another room. Luggage room which is only opened by the staff who accompany you, so it felt safer to leave the luggage than in many other places.

Considering this hotel is in central Stockholm, it's not a bad choice.

It's is centrally located just a few metres away from the central station. I stayed here in January for one night due to a business trip. For that purpose it's perfect. However the rooms are quite small and feel a bit claustrophobic without a window, but again, if you're in meetings all day, and will only use the hotel for a few hours of sleep, it's not a problem.

The bed was comfortable, if slightly on the soft side. The bathroom was very bright and recently renovated and when compared to the room, it is quite large.

The breakfast was pretty ok, nothing special, but they do serve freshly squeezed orange juice which is great.

The reception staff is a bit slow and could have done more to check is in more efficiently instead of having 2 employees simply standing there while just one did all the work.

All in all I would recommend this for an in-and-out trip to Stockholm but I would not stay here if visiting for holiday/short break.

We stayed at the Kungsbron Hotel for two nights during our visit to Stockholm. Having arrived on a flight from Oslo, we caught a bus to the stockholm central terminal where the Kungsbron is closely located.

Or so it seemed..

We walked around the whole area looking for the Kungsbron which we finally located about half an hour earlier. The signage for the Kungsbron is tiny, no larger than a few phone books placed end to end.
In its defence though it is very close to where the buses drop you off at the terminal (straight across the stream/lake)

Check in was fast and as we had booked one of the cheaper rooms, we discovered our room was located underground in a labyrinth of narrow corridors.
The underground level is quite large, as the rooms are quite small. They really did try to fit the largest number of rooms into the available space.
Once we located our room we discovered it is indeed quite small. There was barely enough space to lay out our luggage on the floor, but the interior had been renovated recently and was appointed with a flat
screen TV and mini fridge. The bathroom also was very freshly renovated and spacious compared to the size of the room iteself.

The best aspect of the Kungsbron has to be its location and proximity to convenience stores (just around the corner), transport (bus terminal and T-Centralen Bana station 5 minute walk) and a large shopping mall (only 5-10 minutes walk away). Also located near the T-Centralen station is the Ikea shuttle bus stop.
If you wish to explore central Stockholm, its location is really hard to beat for the price.

There is a small restaurant on the premise but it is only open for breakfast, however there are many other eating alternatives nearby. The lobby also has a beverage machine with a variety of teas and coffees on offer.

To conclude, the Kungsbron is a super clean, no-frills accommodation with a very central location. We would recommend for a short stay but be aware if you book a room without windows it is not unlike a concrete cell.

I stayed here for some days upon arrival in Stockholm in August 2012 and then back in September 2012 just finishing my "Nordic" travel. Great value for your money. The place is greatly located (can't get any better for this money) just in front of the bus and train station and right on Stockholm's best location. The rooms (I think all of them) are in the underground floor of an office building. I have Swedish friends so they came to pick me up at the lobby which is really super nice so don't let yourself be fool into thinking that's its a bad hotel since the rooms are downstairs as its actually great since there are absolutely no noices!!! the rooms are spot clean, everything is new, the bathroom was great, the staff at the desk are always amazing, getting to the airport was as fastest as it can get as the train station is right there, what can I say, everything was just great! and to top this in between my 2 stays here they had placed an amazing nexpresso machine in the lobby; really a great place to stay if you don't really wanna spend more money in a hotel with a view to the water.

Room Tip: I stayed there twice and both rooms were great!

I have stayed already 3 days in the Hotel, which was ok. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean. The area is also perfect, close to the train Station. You are in the City Center, so you are close for everything, there is 24/7 seveneleven shop around the corner, a couple of restaurants, Casino and a Cinema. I would recommend it for a couple of night, but not for a long stay.
