“My "go to" Hotel in Stockholm”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 January 2014

My husband is Swedish, and we have a summerhus in Mora, and this is the hotel we always stay at when we're giving friends and family the tour of Stockholm. Bit of a walk to get to the waterfront, but Stockholm is a walking city, and if you're young or fit, no issue to get there. Really good Swedish style breakfast buffet, what I would characterize as more American style rooms than what you'd typically find in Stockholm (there's a bathtub, ladies), good staff, and well located to see just about everything in one of Europe's most beautiful cities.

We've been coming to Stockholm almost every year for the past 8 years (as my husband is Swedish and visits family & friends) and have stayed at the Elite Arcadia hotel as well. Looking for a hotel for an ultra short stay close to the centre so we could make the best of our time, my husband found the Elite Park Hotel, at the popular Humlegarden (small green park) in Ostermalm (quite a posh area actually) on walking distance from Biblioteksgatan (designer label stores and & Other Stories) and other shopping streets. Just around the corner is Grev Sturegatan with lots of restaurants. The hotel is located in the old Lydmar hotel, and the Asian bar is also a popular brunch place we noticed on Sunday. The breakfast is nice and fresh, the staff very helpful and friendly and the rooms are also very nice and contemporary. The best thing I felt is that the staff offered us a late stay in on Sunday, at no extra cost, which was perfect as we had an early evening flight back. Though the hotel is on a busy street, absolutely no noise to be heard at night. It's also nice for when traveling for business, as it has some sports stuff and a Vapiano just down the street, and a charging station for your smartphone and iPad etc even next to the bed. The blowdryer was so good (Swiss brand) I realized I needed a new one at home! It was a nice haven in the centre.

Really good hotel, high standard (even for Stockholm). Big rooms, very tasty breakfasts, good place to stop when visiting Stockholm.
Most of nice places to see are within 10-15 minutes walk from hotel.

Comfortable hotel located in centre of Stockhom close to shopping areas and historical places and with nice small park just on opposite side of the road. Rooms are small for my liking however this is a general problem for European hotel I guess. Servicing is OK, I also reccomend to take a special taxi to airport(at reception) which is good and is cheaper than regular ones. Breakfast are tasty and versatile. Besides there are two good restaurants on the first floor. Pub with tasty beer and delicious steaks and chinese restaurant with interesting design, good service and excellent seafood.

Room Tip: Select room with parkview on last floor

My husband and I just got back from 3 nights at the Elite Eden Park Hotel. We were very happy with the quality of the hotel, especially after having stayed in a 3-star hotel in Copenhagen for the previous few nights. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 6th floor, and while the view was nothing special (across the street into an office building), the room itself was what you would want for a city break: contemporary but comfortable. A very comfortable bed with nice linens, a good TV, clean, attractive carpet, nice lighting, and a lovely bathroom. The tub had a drainage issue, and I'm sure if we had called down they would have dealt with it but we never got around to it.

The location was great; a couple of blocks off Stureplan and across from a lovely park. Excellent shopping and restaurants are a short walk from the hotel, and it was an easy walk to all the sights we wanted. We walked to Djurgarden, Gamla Stan, Sodermalm... so a good, central location. The hotel also had what appeared to be a very popular restaurant attached, Miss Voon, which also served as a great cocktail bar for the hotel. The fact that the restaurant was so buzzy was nice, since sometimes hotel bars can be a bit of a downer.

All in all, a great, reasonably affordable choice for a few days in one of the most awesome cities in the world!

Some little details of this hotel that make it so special:
- Natural flowers in the room and bathroom
- Full set of good toiletries
- Turn down service everyday with chocolate and a little bottle of cognac
- Very good breakfast buffet
- Friendly service at the reception except for clear recommendations where to park
- Very good location to reach nice restaurants and walk around the city, but not close to old town
- Beutiful view from the room, overlooking the park, colours in automn were amazing
- Spacious and very clean room
- Beautiful bathroom
- Perfect isolation of noise
- Super confortable bed

As a negative point: the parking in the hotel is really expensive (450Kr per night). You'd better search for a parking place on the street, that is usually free from 7pm to 9am. Pay attention to the signals in swedish!!! 1 day per week parking at night is forbidden in some streets for cleaning. Ticket machines are only in swedish. Parking is free of charge from Friday at 5 or 7pm until Monday when you find the right signals.

Room Tip: The view of the rooms going the park is very relaxing with high trees in front of you. Noise proof

Very pleasant hotel in a great location, just across from a park, but still right on Styreplan. Staff was really nice and helpfull. In the afternoon they brought us complimentary brandy - which was nice. Just too bad none of us drink brandy, but still...

The rooms was modern and had a great view towards the park. Bathroom had a huge rain shower.

Breakfast was nice and had a good selection. I still miss more divercity in the cereal/grenola and fruit selection. Freshly pressed juices where a big plus.

We also had room service one of the days - which was nice.

The hotel wasn't cheap, but I guess it delivered value accordingly.

Room Tip: Upgrade for a nice view.
