“So sad”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 June 2014

Returning to Stockholm for a concert at the "Globen" arena I decided to book at this hotel. My friends in the Swedish sports industry tried to talk me out of booking at this hotel, refering to the extremely low standards of the hotel. Having so many fond memories from this building I decided to once more visit the Quality Hotel Globe. This was a mistake.

I remember the times when this hotel was full of life, joy, glamor and interesting people. Now it is just a very sad place. EVERYTHING has gone down and it seems as if noone has cared for this hotel in the last decade. The reception is in the middle of a construction site. The room was just terrible, terrible, terrible. Worn-out furniture with pieces missing in both the tables and chairs. No curtains (just the remains of some) and therefore impossible not to be woken up by the Swedish daylight. Terrible bathroom which looked exactly the same as in 1999, just in much worse condition now. Cheap soap and youth hostel like towels.

The restaurant, which was once a place hosted by terrific people, is now a canteen style place without the least of charm.

A sad experience throughout. How could anyone let a place fall to pieces like this?

During our stay they did some renovation, so the view from the window was in to a plastic bag so it just felt a bit claustrophobic in the room. The room is very basic with a "fat" TV, is still that used anywhere?
But the receptionist was very nice and friendly and helped us with all the questions we did have. Also the breakfast was very good and the staff was very nice and polite.
I think this hotel is used mostly for people that go to some events in the Globe or Tele2 Arena, so you can imagine the parties that maybe occurs in the rooms....
At the moment I will not recommend this hotel, maybe after the renovation.

Building and interior need complete renovation. Nice breakfast.
Too expensive for what you get. Cleaning only superficial. Constant waiting time in reception. Location good close to shopping. This was a one-timer.

Very difficult to get to by other means than taxi. They are renovating now, so probably worse than usual. But it seemed like the normal way to the underground was via the garage. The area is empty and depressing. My room was located over the highway, so it was noisy and hence I could not open the window when trying to sleep.

The hotel is brilliantly located for anyone who has business in "Globen" but its not too close to city centre. I stayed here for a concert and after a long evening its really convenient to be sleeping so close by. Bfast is very good with lots of fresh fruit and a gluten free/ lactose free corner. Small shopping centre nearby. The room was quite spacious but bathroom a bit outdated. The only drawbacks I can see is that its expensive and right now building works are in progress and although I wasnt bothered by any noise it was a right pain to have to walk around all of it to get to the reception.

We visited last August for a hockey trip. The rooms were small but clean. We moved rooms because air didn't work. However, air wasn't any better in the new room and the room wasn't as nice as the original. We had to sleep with fan and window open....no screen...odd. Breakfast was good. It was not as close to downtown or "tourism" type places as would have liked but there is a near bye mall and hotel is close to the subway. Check out the ice bar...pretty neat but it is at another hotel downtown.

I needed to come to Globe when my prefered Quality Hotel in Ringwegen was full. The ongoing construction work from 6:30 in the morning until 21:00 in the evening was noisy. The bathroom was disgusting due the lack of cleaning and mold spreading on walls
