Returning to Stockholm for a concert at the "Globen" arena I decided to book at this hotel. My friends in the Swedish sports industry tried to talk me out of booking at this hotel, refering to the extremely low standards of the hotel. Having so many fond memories from this building I decided to once more visit the Quality Hotel Globe. This was a mistake.
I remember the times when this hotel was full of life, joy, glamor and interesting people. Now it is just a very sad place. EVERYTHING has gone down and it seems as if noone has cared for this hotel in the last decade. The reception is in the middle of a construction site. The room was just terrible, terrible, terrible. Worn-out furniture with pieces missing in both the tables and chairs. No curtains (just the remains of some) and therefore impossible not to be woken up by the Swedish daylight. Terrible bathroom which looked exactly the same as in 1999, just in much worse condition now. Cheap soap and youth hostel like towels.
The restaurant, which was once a place hosted by terrific people, is now a canteen style place without the least of charm.
A sad experience throughout. How could anyone let a place fall to pieces like this?
