The Staff here rate an A plus! They are quick with the old town map and also with suggestions for places to see and eat. The rooms are not real big but very clean and well appointed. Breakfast was included and good. The hotel location is perfect and within walking distance to the metro and all of the old town sites but it was quiet and i slept like a baby.

Hotel Victory is a small and very cozy boutique hotel with 45 rooms. It is located in the historic and wonderful old part of Stockholm called Gamla Stan, a must see area when visiting Stockholm. The hotel building is a historical property and the hotel is a museum piece itself, boasting a private collection of maritime antiques, hand-picked by the owner over many decades. In the basement where the breakfast is served they have displayed some old fundaments of former building dating back to 13th or 14th century.

I had never stayed in this hotel before but due to an arrangement in Gamla Stan I had booked this hotel. I had stayed at some of its sister hotels, which are all located in the same area and I had totally enjoyed them even though a hotel like Hotel Nelson has really small cabin like rooms. Even at Victory there were really small rooms but I had the good fortune to be upgraded to a nice size room. Each room in Hotel Collector’s Victory continues the nautical theme, all the rooms are named after Swedish captains and the rooms are filled with antiques.

My room was maybe 15 square meters with a low but very nice double bed taking up most of the space. The room had an entry like stepping into a cabin on a ship and the nautical theme continued from the outside in the room. There were two pictures of old sail ships and a 3-dimentional picture with a model of a ship hanging above the bed. The curtains were heavy but in bright yellow and red colors, they were double drapes so the room would not let in any sun. I had a view towards the inner yard with old yellow houses centering a small cozy summer garden but being December there were nothing but colored light and some chairs out there.

The room had quite a large bathroom for being in this area and I was really satisfied with the room I was given. The reason that you should take at this hotel should not be for the sake of the room but the ambiance of the hotel itself. It is like staying at a living museum. Yes there are antiques everywhere but they are meant to be used not just things to look at. The staff in the hotels reception, breakfast area and their bars, were all really friendly and service minded. The hotel is also flexible about the check out time if you ask them nicely.

There are a lot of activities going on at the hotel because it also houses 3 bars and a restaurant. There is a Burgundy bar with good but very expensive grapes, a normal bar but with great selection of drinks and beers and they actually also have a cigar bar. The places are all popular but getting in to the bars at around 8 pm seems a good possibility as many are leaving for restaurants in the area.

It feels old. It has that old smell and you feel like dusting and renovating the whole place but still feel at home and warm, that is the feeling for Victory. The location is great. The room size was perfect for a family of 3. The breakfast is rich and delicious. Definetly recommended for a first-timer family.

Dear Seda,

Thank you for your input here on Tripadvisor! We loved having you with us and we are so pleased that you felt at home, or should I say at Great Grandma´s home, Of course being a hotel situated in a building dated 1640 and decorated with a collection of antiques really contributes to the character and atmosphere of the hotel. We will never be an anonymous business hotel thats for sure! We hope to see you again in the future!

Best regards from all of us at Victory Hotel!

This hotel was the perfect location in Old Town. Most of the museums and attractions were easy walking distance. And there are plenty of good restaurants and pubs. The room was spacious by European standards and very comfortable. The included breakfast was delicious. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel is n a perfect location if you are going to explore Stockholm because it's walking distance to the metro, some fun shopping streets, the Royal Palace, Nobel Museum, and lots of other great sights. They have an excellent buffet breakfast available. The front desk personnel are very helpful with anything you need. Furniture and decor are all nautical themed and give a great ambience throughout the hotel. We were there in May so the weather was still a bit chilly outside but the room had a comfortable temperature and well designed for you to stash your boots, overcoats etc in a separate closet at the room entrance. There were really warm bathrobes to use in the room too.

Room Tip: Ask which rooms are less noisy in case you might want to sleep late. They are doing construction on...

Heij, have you always wanted to sneak into the museum an spend a night there? Then this is for you!

The Victory hotel's theme is about riding the ocean's waves when such journeys still held considerable danger. Seafarer's memorabilia line the walls. Kudos to Family Bengtsson for the passion and love they put into their hotel. The reception with the friendly staff already reminds you about a ship's bridge. Take the spacious elevator up to your room. Walk the stairs to contemplate all the displays.

The rooms are lovingly decorated as well. Given the situation of an old town house, the rooms have been thoughtfully designed. Let's get to the essentials of my single room on 3rd floor:
The room offers a cupboard, suitcase stand, working desk, windows you actually can open and of course a comfortable bed. Space is a bit tight. The proper guys among you have a slight advantage :-). Free WiFi (works very well - nuisance: frequent registration required), TV, B&O CD player, trouser press and *multiple* power sockets (yesss, dump that bulky extender plug). Adjustable A/C, extra electrical radiator.

The bathroom, again small, but fully functional: towel heater, solid shower door, level entry, water temperature and pressure always perfect! If you carry a lot of toiletries your space management skills will be needed.

The dining room is in the basement. Admire the remains of the Lions Tower foundations, a remnant ruin of the 13th century, or plunge forward and sit down. The breakfast buffet is very good, varied and always freshened up. Free, mostly Swedish, newspaper copies to share. Go practice! There is a nice bar as well. I never had time to check it out.

The location in Gamla Stan is perfect. Find any cuisine restaurants, cafes, pubs, bars, nightclubs within a 10 min. walk. Need to reach out? Head to the Gamla Stan T-Bana station (3 min.). Most lines pass through there. Hit the Slussen ferry terminal (10 min.) for a quick trip to Gröna Lund, Djurgarden or out to the archipelago.

I will definitely stay there again at my next visit to Stockholm. And nooo: I didn't get any free nights :-)

Room Tip: Kapten Hassel is a quiet, non-smoking single room. Otherwise ask reception for special needs.

My husband and I stayed at the Victory Hotel in Stockholm for 4 nights. We didn't choose this hotel, we were the guests of the Royal Swedish Academy, and that's where the Academy put us for our stay. It was our lucky day! We arrived at the Victory Hotel quite early in the morning, at about 8AM. I had emailed to the hotel a day or two before, describing our travel plans and asking if they could possibly accomodate us at that early hour. They emailed back and said that they would try to do their best. And they sure did. Upon check-in they asked us if we would like to be upgraded to a nearby apartment. Yes, of course! They escorted us across the street to apartment #8. It was a beautiful little apartment, a nice bedroom, a big bathroom and a completely equipped kitchen. We didn't really need the kitchen, but it was very nice to have the extra space. Everything about the hotel was spotlessly clean.

We were very pleased with the Victory Hotel. The staff were unfailingly polite and helpful. When I asked directions to the closest market that sold groceries, they didn't just point the way. The staff came out from behind the desk, came to the windows and showed me which street to take, They made sure that I was comfortable and knew where I was going. The daily breakfast was delicious and had many choices. LOVED the Swedish pancakes! The hotel is very beautifully furnished with interesting objects, all describing the theme of Lord Nelson and his career.

There were a few little glitches. One day our apartment was not serviced, they just forgot about us. The shower drain was a problem, lots of water on the floor, but this was eventually resolved.

I had read on Tripadvisor that some people complained about noise, but we thought that it was amazingly quiet, especially considering the location of the hotel. You couldn't ask for a better location, right in the middle of the Old City. You are literally steps away from the main tourist attractions in Stockholm.
