Owner description: The Old Town, unsurprisingly, is the oldest part of Stockholm. It's certainly the tourist's go-to destination, but that doesn’t detract from its architectural and otherwise urban beauty.

“Nice place”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

This was nice for a stroll around. I went into the palace and had a picture taken next to one of the soldiers. I also checked out the churches tool. Nice for a stroll and in the evenings for a meal.

“Gamla Stan”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

It is a must see while in Stockholm. It 's the oldest part of the city, so the architecture, the cobble stone streets, the little alleys, everything is beautiful and worth the visit.
The are a few restaurants and a couple of icecream shops. The souvenir stores are way overpriced (well, as are all things intended for tourists).

“Very Quaint”
Reviewed 3 August 2012

The changing of the guard at the palace is quite a show. But very crowded so need to get there early to get a good spot or be able to get through the crowd to the front (which we did). Then walk around the old town. Wear comfortable shoes as the streets are cobblestone and hard to walk on.

“A must when in Stockholm”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

Gamla Stan is a true must on a visit to the Swedish capital - the cute little houses and cobbled streets speak of the city's history as a major European city. Yes, it's crowded and pricey, but it's still a must-see.

“Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Old Town district.”
Reviewed 2 August 2012

Gamla Stan is the 'Old Town' district of the Swedish capital. It's a beautiful area between two bridges, intact still and seemingly impervious to the passing of time. You'd be forgiven for lingering here as it has so many attractions: great restaurants cohabit with high-fashion boutiques along with individual shops, some hidden in the warren of alleys that lead off the cobblestone streets.
